Good Morning all.. Please HELP! This time I want answers please!

When the new vendio format went into effect, the site slowed down ALOT! well, you said it was "fixed" and I had to agree yesterday morning things seemed much quicker. However over the day.. I noticed increase slowness, and my pages loaded SUPER SLOW.. with these long vertical lines.. that looked exactly like giant bar codes! I did everything I could, cleared cashe, disk clean up.. deleted cookies... blah blah blah.

I am still seeing these "long streaks" and I notice the area on the bottom line (Progress Bar) is running through each Http name for everything on the page .. every icon.. every background .. everything is flashing in the progress bar before it says "Done" and the page is fully loaded... which is taking at least 30 seconds or more to fully load.

Again, I am running IE6 ... AOL .. XP .. and need your help desparately. Is there something I should "adjust" to make the pages load quicker and stop seeing these "long streaks" .. etc? I cannot work like this .. for one thing the lines are driving me crazy.. and slow load time is rideculous! HELP ME PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!

debs, as a workaround while they're trying to work it all out, have you tried going into vendio through your Big Blue E explorer icon? ... I too use AOL XP with roadrunner cable hookup ... I was having slowwwww loading of the Create Listing page for a couple weeks, but it has completely gotten better for me, as far as speed, in just the past few days ... don't know why i'm so lucky LOL ......

but when I DO have slow loading vendio thru my AOL portal, I just switch to Big Blue E and do my vendio work thru there, and it solves the 'slow' ...

just a suggestion.

edited to add, if 'E' is no better, you could download NetscapeNavigator (it's free) and is a good "different" portal to try; it might be faster for you too ...

I did a workaround too - I opened 2 "e" browsers and while one was loading on one listing, I worked on the other and switched back and forth. I managed to launch over 60 listings yesterday (at one point I had two computers going - waiting for pages to load on one and working on the other one - got a lot of exercise!) I also have AOL - XP - Cable modem on one machine - the other brand new laptop doesn't have AOL installed yet.

Hello.. Neg ~.. Hello Ain't~..

I should have made my post clearer, by sayin yes indeed, I have been working thru IE for quite sometime myself! It's always run much faster this way for me.. everything, not just vendio... even with my slow dial up modem. (however no vendio is moving like a snail..)

Maybe I should try downloading a new "browser"? Yikes, gee... sounds like alot of work. How do I "turn off internet explorer browser to use a new one?" .. and would I just use this for vendio or all web applications?

I had an idea and went to check for Microsoft updates for my computer. Sure 'nough there was a new driver. Downloaded that.. and it didn't seem to help vendio pages load quicker ..

also.. no computer-wiz here.. just an old lady with very little PC knowledge.. but willing to try anything to not have to list directly thru ebay!

Thanks for the tip.. but "been there.. doing that" LOL...

Gosh Neg .. 60 auctions .. working off two PC's? I am so jealous .. and greeeeen with envy!

Hi debs ... you say:

I'm not a computer expert either ... far from it. lol ...

if you choose netscape (which i've used before) i think when you download it, it will place an icon on your desktop and/or in the little tray at bottom left side of screen, and you could click on either of those to bring that browser company up ... it works and is laid out similar to Explorer ... pretty sure though that you have to have your AOL turned on to access and use it ... i've heard other people rave about a browser called Opera but i also understand Opera is having a little trouble with the new vendio set up too ........

you can find all of these and more free downloads, at www.download.com ... click on 'Internet/Browsers and you will see a list of them available to you ...

good luck a-huntin' and a-peckin' ...

neglus, - I'm jealous of you too!!! .. that was a VERY productful day you had! ...

Debs, to work in more than one browser, just open the browser again, and it should give you a brand new screen to start on? ...

Good morning everyone.

We released a change to the dynamic menus in Sales Manager and Customer Manager this morning at 7:05AM (pacific time). This is a known fix (at least on our test machines) for problems with the eBay toolbar, but may extend to cover other problems as well.

Deb, as annoying as it is, could you try clearing your cache and trying the site again?

I try to never recommend that someone download a new browser and change the way they work, because honestly, you shouldn't have to. But, if you were so inclined, the best alternative out there is called Firefox.

The long streaks while loading is something that we haven't heard of before, and certainly didn't appear in testing. I wouldn't know how to make a webpage do that even if I wanted to! Have you ever seen this happen on other sites?

Hello Aint .. Hi Christian... thank you for posting and trying to help me!

So Sorry! I feel like a fool... I come for help and then I disappear. We had severe thunderstorms yesterday, and an old tree took down our overhead little "village" powerlines. We were without power for 36 hours .... and we had to fire up the generator to run the freezer and fridge... but finally things are 'normal' again.

Anyway, Aint... I think I already have "netscape" somewhere on the computer. The PC came with netscape and I downloaded IE. So... I just have to find where it is located and try this way... I will do this before I try the FireFox thing.

Christian, I got your emails. thank you!! Noooo!! These long streaks are not from images. They are actually the "text" that is trying to load. No. I have NEVER seen this before on any other site. Its just crazy!

I am still getting them today (the streaks here on vendio)! I just got back on so haven't actually tried working .. yet.. I came straight away to this post.
.. also... I had AOL 9.0 loaded at one time and absolutely hated it! They don't make the option of the tool bar being on the bottom .. and I had many problems with email. (However this is when it first was launched).. so maybe I will try again. I already have a brand new "disc".

My Plan of action: Try working with Netscape. If that doesn't work, I will download Firefox. If that doesn't work. I will load (against my better wishes).. AOL 9.

So... give me a while.. I will "play" this morning and see how it all goes. If any of these three "fixes" work, I will let you know.

I appreciate this so very much!! Will write later.

Blessings, DEB
