it sounds like a mouse and/or keyboard problem pam ... and as you hear quite often, you 'might try' clearing your cache/tempfiles, and reboot ... and honestly, if that doesn't work, try this: turning off your computer, unplug everything out of the wall outlet, wait for 6 minutes, come back and turn it back on, and see if it fixes itself.

i OFTEN have glitches where, for instance, half my keyboard stop 'functioning', and i do the above, and for some reason, it WORKS more often than not!

good luck to you.

I need to list some items from "Inventory".
I can't get any of these "buttons" to work from Sales Manager:

Post Sale
Sales Archive
Import/Track
Inventory

Maybe they are not really Buttons??
If so, how do you get into Inventory?

I left Vendio an email over 24 hours ago, but so far, no reply. The whole weekend has been blown as far as listing items on eBay from Inventory. Alot of lost sales.

Why can't they leave "well-enough alone" or at least test, test, test before rolling-out a new version. (The same with eBay!)

Again, how do you get the Inventory button to work?

Thanks.

I can't figure out why TWO of you are having trouble with those buttons (the Inventory button also has the "flyout" menu aside of it for more specific categories within your inventory, to click on, but even if I click on my "Inventory" button (without choosing one of the items in the menu) it opens up my inventory just fine ...

sorry you guys are having problems ... i do think that vendio (as well as ebay) has only a skeleton crew of staff that works on the weekends ... you might have to wait till tomorrow to get these answers.

Hi Aint Rich Yet,

Thanks for the reply. I've been with Vendio at least three years and really have never had a complaint and I'm sure this one will be resolved soon.

The "pre-mature roll-out" I mentioned maybe is something inherent with the computer folks in general (or maybe it's just impossible to foresee the multitude of possible glitches). I know we are always having "upgrades" from our IT dept at work. There are ALWAYS glitches no matter how many hours of sleep they lose anticipating them.

--------------------
I'm not sure what you mean about the flyout menu ? Under Inventory I have a kind of submenu (Customers) and that's all...and it doesn't work either.

My computer is functioning fine in all other respects except for this problem. I've unplugged, cleared cache and everything else...no avail.

Maybe Vendio will reply soon. (You know...you would think the weekend is the time when they WOULDN'T have a skeleton crew as that is when more people are doing auctions!)

Thanks Again ARY!

Mike

LOL ...now I'M ticked ... second time today on these boards where i type out a well thought out reply to someone, and hit enter and the whole consarn thing i typed, vanishes into thin air.
---

mike bones says: "I'm not sure what you mean about the flyout menu ? Under Inventory I have a kind of submenu (Customers) and that's all...and it doesn't work either."

mike on MY left side list of 6 things are:
Post Sale
Sale Archives
Import/Track
Inventory
Customers
Sale Manager Pro

well, those first 4 things/buttons each have a bold black arrow/bullet on the righthand edge of the button; and when i simply wave my cursor over any of those buttons, a menu {much like a pull-down menu} flies-out, just to the right of those buttons, and that Inventory one gives you EVERYthing in there to choose and click on; everything from 'all catories' to individually named categories ....

I think it really IS neat, but of course only neat for those of us that it is working for eh? ....

Hi Aint,

I too have those categories on the left side, BUT none of mine have the "bold black arrow/bullet on the righthand edge of the button" that you mention.

Waving or hovering over these buttons on my computer is akin to twiddling my thumbs.
Also clicking on these buttons does absolutely nothing (except to highlight them in a nice blue color).

I CAN click into the Control Panel items which are above all of the aforementioned buttons.

It "could be" something "wrong" with my computer....but I never had a problem with the old Vendio or clicking on items in other websites.

"Change isn't always good or necessary" is my new motto !

Thanks,

Mike

There is one other thing to consider here...bad timing! I got the new Micro Soft SP2 and it has created havoc with my ISP, Firewall and a host of other internal programs. I spent a whole day going in and resetting stuff so that I could function under SP2. Vendio put out their new system just about the same time as Micro Sloth puts theirs out and wham... One Big Mess. Add to that the fact that the government is busy scanning stuff for their Internet Fraud program and I am really surprised that anything is functioning. I know that none of this is any help to anyone but I guess I needed to vent. Sorry to all that I might have just offended.

Hmmmm bones ... interesting, and that is why I specifically mentioned the bold black 'pointing to the right' arrow/bullets because I thought that might tip you off that 'gee, something like that might mean if i click, i'll get some further info'

and you say you do not even have those ... arghhh ...

and Kevin ... it is GOOD you mentioned what is going on with your computer because I think that when vendio support team gets ALL their hard-workin' tushes back in here tomorrow, that will help give them 'clues' as to what might be happening (or not) ...

I'm SURE it is hard for them ... hey, Bones... were those 'buttons' working when vendio was asking us to check out their beta version 2 weeks ago?, or did you not check at that time?

Bones- it looks like you might be suffering from a browser compatibility problem. I'd suggest trying to upgrade your current browser to fix the problem. The menu we're using has more advanced code than on our previous site and the older browsers could have problems with the features.

Darin,

You are the best!

I took your advice and downloaded the newest version of IE and it worked !

Now the buttons work and I have the flyout menus and everything.

I am back to being a happy camper with Vendio.

Hope this helps others that are having problems.
---------------------------------------------
And AINT RICH YET...thank you for your help!
I wouldn't have this fixed if not for you.
Thanks!!

(Incidentally in one of the threads someone mentioned about possibly changing back to Andale. I was with them before Vendio and they had no Customer Service. And they kept charging my credit card for six months even after I quit them...I would never use them again.)

Pam,

See if this helps you out! Re-installing Internet Explorer helped my whole computer, not to mention the Vendio problem. Guess it was a good thing the Vendio glitch came along...I guess it was more on my end than theirs.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.mspx

It might download an icon onto your desktop and then you click on that to automatically install.

This should help you.

Oh, and no cost...it's free.

Good Luck,
Mike

I am about ready to pull out my hair! could you please come over & fix it for me or else come up with something else I can try? lol

Hi Pam,

Well I'd be happy to come over if we lived close...I'm in Arkansas.....

Seriously, I didn't totally delete the old IE, I just did a re-install I guess they called it. It worked like a charm luckily.
I know what you mean about the hair-pulling-out part. I wish I had a better answer.

I would keep putting this thread at the top of the message board so that Vendio will notice and maybe solve your problem on Monday.

I think I am going to sleep now...........................Good Luck,

Mike

You're welcome mr. bones ...

PAM, I'm so sorry you're not "getting in" yet ... yep, inventory is sure important to be able to get into ... i hope your problems get cleared up today too

i know that vendio CSrep named christian/pirateboy recommended last week, the internet browser called Mozilla Firefox (it's free too; do search at download.com for it) ... it is a very interesting format layout, and i'm still 'getting used to it', and it sure is FAST ... just thought i'd mention that

Hi Pam,

Not sure if you have tried this yet but perhaps clearing your browser cache and cookies might help. I did not see it suggested to you.

Sonya

Hi Pamster,

I'm sorry to hear you're still having trouble. Can you tell me what version of IE you are running, whether you are running XP or XP SP2, and whether you have any toolbars installed in your browser? I'd like to help you with this personally so you can email me directly at [email protected].

Also, I know you're an Internet Explorer user but another test is to try downloading the Netscape browser. This is free as well. Just go to: http://channels.netscape.com/ns/browsers/download.jsp

I normally wouldn't ask someone to switch browsers, but because IE is not working at all for you, I would like to test whether your browser is the issue or something else is.

Hope I can help,

Chuck
