WITH VENDIO'S NEW INTERFACE, EVERY TIME I LAUNCH AN AUCTION FROM MY INVENTORY, I HAVE TO JUMP THROUGH A NEW HOOP. TO GET TO THE "PENDING" FOLDER I HAVE TO GO TO THE Control Panel, WHICH OPENS UP TO GIVE ME THE:
Summary
All Active
All Pending
All Closed

AND I CAN CLICK ON THE "PENDING" FOLDER. IT HAS ADDED AN EXTRA STEP, A TIME CONSUMING ONE. THERE IS NO "JUMP TO" PULL DOWN MENU FOR THE CONTROL PANEL FOLDERS ABOVE. VERY FRUSTRATING!!

AND THAT'S JUST ONE PROBLEM. TWO OTHERS THAT I AM GROWING INCREASINGLY FRUSTRATED WITH: MY INVENTORY IS BACKWARDS. THE Z'S ARE AT THE TOP OF THE FIRST PAGE, THE A'S ARE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE LAST PAGE. THE SECOND PROBLEM IS THAT I CANNOT SET MY PREFERENCES TO VIEW MY INVENTORY AT 100 ITEMS PER PAGE. EVERY TIME I LOG ON, I GET 48 PAGES OF INVENTORY WITH 5 ITEMS PER PAGE. VENDIO SAVES ME A GREAT DEAL OF MONEY EVERY MONTH, AND I VALUE THE SERVICE, BUT I AM GETTING VERY FRUSTRATED WITH THESE NEW PROBLEMS.

Hi there,

About going from Inventory to view Pending listings, the extra click is a tradeoff for the benefits you get from a shorter, more compact left nav. In the new site, all the Sales Manager menu items are visible and accessible without scrolling, whereas in the old site, you were probably scrolling down just to see the Inventory link.

If you just want to confirm you have scheduled your listing, consider trying this to save that extra click. Instead of clicking Control Panel > All Pending as you are doing now, how about trying to view your latest Pending items from the Control Panel itself? The Control Panel shows a summary view of Pending Items as the second table. By clicking the Scheduled column, you can see your latest pending items. If this view does not show you enough, you can also increase the number of items shown by modifying your Sales Manager Display preferences here: https://secure.vendio.com/my/acct/ampref.html.

Finally, the two issues you describe with Inventory view settings are already logged as bugs and will be fixed as soon as our engineers can get to them, which hopefully will be soon.

I hope that helps.

Regards,

Chuck

Hello antiquetek,

The category selector page hasnt been changed recently, only the image hosting design/features.

To enable proper operation, AOL/CompuServe users may need to force a page reload (by holding CRTL and clicking on the Refresh icon in the AOL browser) or clear their local internet cache (Preferences -> Internet -> Temporary Internet Files -> Delete files).

If neither works or you otherwise have difficulty, we also enable you to switch to the older category selector if necessary (look for this link under the category menu.) If this doesn't help, you may also be able to work around the issue by entering the category number instead of using the menu selector.
Regards,
Christopher

9/12/04: MY INVENTORY IS NO LONGER BACKWARDS AND I AM ABLE TO SET MY PREFERENCES TO "VIEW 100 ITEMS PER PAGE", WITHOUT IT GOING BACK TO "VIEW 5 ITEMS" EVERYTIME I GO INTO MY INVENTORY. THANKS!

SCRATCH THAT: I AM ABLE TO "VIEW 100 ITEMS" PER PAGE, BUT MY INVENTORY IS STILL BACKWARDS. VENDIO, CAN YOU GIVE SOME KIND OF TIMELINE FOR FIXING THIS? IT WOULD TAKE ME HOURS TO RE-NAME ALL MY INVENTORY, WITH THE LETTER "Z" IN FRONT OF THE ITEMS I WANT TO HAVE FIRST, AND SO ON. IT'S THE ONLY WORK-AROUND I HAVE, AND IT'S A LAME SOLUTION, BUT THIS IS A LAME PROBLEM. IT'S SO BASIC, I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THIS CAN'T BE FIXED SOON.

Hello,

We are aware of the issue of items ordering themselves in descending order -- we will let you know when this has been resolved. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Sonya

Hi pantylines,

Your Inventory may not be backwards after all. When we fixed the saving of view options, we also fixed the arrow convention on the title column sort. Now it correctly points up to show ascending sort and down to show descending sort. You can choose which sort order you prefer by clicking the title heading.

Click here to see a screenshot of what I'm talking about.

I hope this helps. You shouldn't have to rename all your items to sort correctly.

Regards,

Chuck
