I've used Vendio for three years, but I've been having trouble for some time uploading images. Sometimes I've had to rescan them, recrop them, or make them smaller to get them to upload. (Although I never go higher than 100 kb -- I scan at 150dpi and save the image at 96dpi.) Beginning this afternoon, no matter WHAT I try, my images won't upload. My editing program is Adobe PhotoShop 7.0, I use Windows XP, and I have a 56K dial-up connection to the Internet. I defragged my C-drive, rebooted the computer ... nothing is working! Also, except for posting auctions, I don't know much about computers. An answer in layman's language would be most gratefully appreciated!

Hi, have you checked the posts over the past two weeks about Vendios new system. It has affected the way we list auctions and upload images. If you are trying to do it the old way it won't work. The new system by the way is much easier and user friendly. Good luck, Steve

Thanks for trying to help, Steve, but I AM using the new Vendio system, and at first I was getting most of my images uploaded on the first try. Then it failed completely yesterday afternoon. The first image I tried to upload this morning came up fine; the others all timed out on the attempt. More info about my situation: I have Norton anti-virus and a Norton Personal Firewall, but no privacy software, and my browser is IE 6.0.

Hello,
Please try to upload one image at a time. If they continue to time out, let us know what the average file size of your images are. We may also ask you to send us one of the images that is failing so we can try the upload from our end.

Hi, Sonya ... Trying to upload one image at a time doesn't work, and neither did disabling my Norton firewall. Looking back, I first had trouble uploading when I had to abandon my old Adobe PhotoDeluxe editing software, because it wasn't compatible with the Win98 I had just gotten. Now I have Adobe PhotoShop 7.0 and Windows XP (with the IE 6.0 browser), and right away it started getting progressively more difficult to upload images. I really like your new Vendio system, and I don't think this change has anything to do with my troubles, since I was able to upload (with my usual difficulties) through the new system for the first few days after the changeover.
To answer your question, my jpeg images range in size between 40kb and about 108kb. They are usually pictures of book covers mixed with text pages. I scan them at 150 dpi and save them at 96 dpi. I also have a Sony CyberShot digital camera that takes photographs at 72 dpi. Right now I can't upload either scans or photos to Vendio.

Hello,
Please send me one of your images that times out when you tried to upload it. You may send it to [email protected]. We will be able to determine if the problem is the image itself or your system by trying to upload the images that gave you problems.

Thanks, Sonya, but it's not my images. I read other postings that said that McAfee's privacy control was hindering uploading. Well, guess what, folks -- Norton's firewall privacy control has the same negative feature. I turned it off and had no more trouble uploading. I'll just have to remember to turn it off before each uploading session.
