I am getting too many complaints from buyers that the Vendio Check-out is not working for them. Can you please look over my account and see where I may be astray?
Recent notification from a buyer; happens every week:

Dear texas-notes,
I,m sending you a postal money order today/I've tried six times to use your check out and it does not function . It may be me but paypal always seems to work. ""

I have at least 6 emails from customers in the few days about how they "can't use the Vendio checkout to finish payment for the auction".
I basically tell them to go directly to Paypal.com and send the funds directly to me instead of using Vendio.

All of these are just confused buyers with the Vendio checkout? I didn't think it changed a lot lately, so I am unsure how to respond to them. Should I buy something on eBay and go through the entire Vendio checkout process to ensure it runs ok and is easy to use?
Please advise.

A few more from today. Some of them are "user" errors. I don't know why it is confusing to use the Vendio checkout button on my eBay auctions... but I am getting more complaints lately for some reason...

Dear hollywood-4-you,
Hi, I'm bigdaddyshigg, and the reason that I haven't paid for the item yet is that I can't get past your Vendio checkout window for some reason. Why? I don't know. You say that you accept Paypal, why doesn't it let me go there? So, how do you want to deal with this problem? Email me ONLY at [email protected], this is my only email account. The people at ebay can't seem to get that concept. Thanks for your time, and sorry.
Please respond to the question on eBay by clicking the button below.
Thank you,

Hello,
Did you recently change anything about your PayPal settings -- such as the IPN, or perhaps your email address for PayPal? The message your customers are getting means that there may be a problem with the checkout setup, or our system has not yet received notification from eBay that the item has closed. When the items are fixed price, or dutch auctions, they take a little longer to move from active to closed, so if a customer is checking out immediately there is a chance they will get that message after entering their email address.

Almost all my auctions are Fixed auctions.
I will put in something along the lines of "When using the Vendio checkout button, please allow up to ________ days because Vendio needs to import the eBay fixed price auctions and this cannot be done immediately."
Is that ok? Or do I have the wrong idea/message for my customers?

Hello,
It might turn off your customers. You could say something like "please allow up to X minutes for the item close to process. contact me for questions." Hopefully this will cut down on emails from customers.

I'm not going to ask my customers to ''try another time''; nor ''wait a few minutes''..Uh,uh; myself I would ...do something else..
I'll take the one approach suggested to ignore the Vendio link-button and go straight to PayPal..or wherever...
Ya'gotta keep it simple for the folks, Vendio and if they are paying money, indirectly to Vendio, it has to work!

I'm having trouble getting through the vendio checkout. It says that it doesn't recognize my email address. Thanks
----- End of Message -----
His auction ended on Nov-17-04 19:24:09 PST.
The email I got from this winning bidder was from Nov-18-2004 13:27:35 PST.
That's over 17 hours difference from the time the auction closed and when he contacted me about his problem with paying with the Vendio checkout.
I have noticed that the winning bidders that are complaining about their "Vendio" checkout problems are eBay users that have recently (within several hours .. or 1 day) of the auction close.
A lot of them simply check back and eventually pay, but the issue of 'immediate payment' still exists.
If an eBay user wins an auction and wants to pay immediately for this fixed price auction, they will have to either:
(1) Pay directly by logging into paypal.com and sending payment to [email protected]
(2) Wait 24 hrs after auction so the eBay item close can process.
Is there anything that can be done about this? Is Vendio simply waiting on eBay to 'finish' up with the fixed price auction, or am I experiencing a batch mode of Vendio-eBay transactions and maybe the Vendio-eBay link can be updated more frequently than every 17 hours?
I quess what I need from Vendio is ... what can be done about this lag of eBay-to-Vendio fixed price auction information processing? If nothing can be done, then I will need to change all my eBay auction descriptions. Please advise.

Hello,
As we mentioned before, the message your customers are getting means that there may be a problem with the checkout setup, or our system has not yet received notification from eBay that the item has closed. I know you have had this problem more frequently than other customers so I'd like to go over your settings again -- you do have the IPN enabled in eBay, correct? I see you have all post sale steps checked off in your preferences (although I suggest you check off the one that will import address into Step 2 -- this is in Post Sale Acceleration). Do you have the EOA notifications on eBay turned on?
Fixed Price and Dutch always take a little longer than regular auctions to process. If there is anything else that you can think of we have not gone over before, please do let me know. We will continue to look into this for you.

Hi there,
IPN is actually something you would set up to work between your Vendio account and your Paypal account - this will enable your payments to be recorded automatically. Here is a link with more info:
You can set your eBay account to send EOA notices to you if you want to receive these - they will let you know when a listing closes so that you can look for your item in your closed list to make sure it has been recognized as closed (sometimes there is a delay in the eBay notifications that we use to detect an item close - in this case you would refresh the active listing. )
You would set this under My eBay -> eBay Preferences.

I run all fixed priced auctions - and there is a bit of a delay "sometimes"
The delay is not always there, it seems to run in streaks. I don't know if it is a Vendio issue or what. But it is very frustrating when someone wants to pay and they can't because Vendio isn't keeping up.
This is a VERY important issue and I hope that Vendio is looking very seriously at why there is a delay - store items also have a big delay. I often have to go in and refresh my active ebay store items to get it to recognize a sale. Somewhere along the line Vendio needs to "refresh" the active items more often or something.
Never, never, never should a buyer be told they have to wait to pay - they might just go away and never pay. That is terrible business - it you were in a store checkout and the clerk told you to wait 15 minutes and then you can pay - you would go somewhere else.
Very important VENDIO - figure out how to get rid of the delays!!!
(1)-----------------------
"you do have the IPN enabled in eBay" -- Aha! It's not an eBay setting. Ok. It's in Paypal/Vendio settings.
All settings are marked (checked) in the Vendio settings here: https://secure.vendio.com/my/acct/mailstep.html
(checked) Automatically apply the payment as a credit to the specified item or order #
(checked) Automatically extract and store the Buyer's 'Ship To' address into the PostSale system (if the address is not already stored)
(checked) Automatically complete checkout process (Step 2)
(checked) Enable PayPal Notification for items bought through Vendio Checkout
(checked) Generate WBN emails using your Post-Sale Acceleration email ID as the 'from' address
(2)-----------------------
I've got the EOA notification setup too. I hope I understand where you mean by "eBay | Preferences" settings.
Despite what corksmom mentioned, I am not entirely sure the "lag" is solely Vendio's problem, but I would like Vendio to place this issue with your future development plans and your eBay contacts if you see fit. Please keep me updated and I will cross my fingers for the next 5 weeks as it is at least 40% of my yearly income during the X-Mas shopping season.
