There is a problem with the listings I launched last night. The fonts are all tiny instead of the size/bold that I always use. Can someone check this out? Older listings are fine.....its just the ones I wrote and launched yesterday. Used the same procedure....Sales Manager Pro....Thanks

Hi there,

I've checked your seller's list and yuou have a lot of listings that are set for different durations. Would you mind posting an example of an item that has the correct font, and an item that has the smaller font? We will be happy to take a look but need to know what items to look at.

Thanks,

Diana

I use the same template/fonts for all of my listings regardless of when they start/started. The ones that launched last night are the ones with the problems. I launched 61 new auctions last night...here's a couple of the numbers
7204969528
5646818097 - funny but this one has come up with the tiny fonts and looking regular on different occasions
I'm going to restart my computer and see if it has anything to do with that....I've already tried restarting my browser and the problem stayed the same.....I even tried Internet Explorer and AOL's browser and had the same results
6589028839 - this one was initially launched last week and relisted by Vendio this week and it has tiny fonts....as do a couple other Vendio listers that I've checked. I'll let you know if the computer restart makes a difference.....

Restarting the computer didn't help. Still having the same problem.

I notice that my titles are smaller too - but it looks like all of my listings (old and new) are this way now!

Sonya - the old listings did not look this way before. If you look at my saved templates you can see the size the titles are SUPPOSED to be and they don't look like that on ebay anymore.

Hello,

Im not sure what your font size appeared like before, but I did find an old listing of yours to compare to your most recent items.

The following image shows a sample of text from one listing that you have had on since April (displayed on top) and some sample text from one of your most recent listing examples:

From first glance, it appears as though the font size for the brand new listing is exactly the same size as the item you had submitted back in April.

Items used in this sample were:
Item number: 6172085766
Item number: 6589028839

Is this the size you are seeing the fonts on your end?

Christopher

My auctions don't look like they did before either. I ALWAYS use Arial size 3 for text, and then bolded with green for accented text.

This looks a lot smaller, and the title that is reproduced in the description is tiny by comparison to what it looked like before.

BTW, I am on the new SMPro.

The samples you posted are not the font I use/used in my templates/listings but that is how it is looking at my end when I look at my listings on Ebay. Now I checked and all my old listings are also in this tiny non bold font - titles and descriptions.

I'm having the same problem as neglus; my old auctions look weird and small now too.

Say what you will, that is NOT Arial 3 text in any of my listings.

Mine are wierd, but I assumed it was an ebay thing. The first paragraph in most of the descriptions are bolded.

... I know that this isn't an SMPro thread, but since this problem appears to be common...

I checked, and the auctions don't look okay in SMPro's auction preview, but not once listed.

Hello,

It does appear that (once again) eBay has made a change to the listing page that has altered the appearance of the fonts in the description fields. (Im pretty sure we went through this with them a few months ago as well, ill try and track down that thread in a bit.)

From what ive seen and from what users have posted, it doesnt matter if these are new listings or items that you have had in your eBay store for the past year, the change is the same.

It also doesn't appear to matter what you used to list your items or where they were posted from, all listings are effected.

Edited to add: Im starting to see users posting on the eBay message boards about this, so its most likely effecting everyone posting to eBay and not just 3rd party services. When we find more information on this we will be sure to pass it along.

Regards,
Christopher

Hello maybe this will help. It might be your computer settngs messed up.
Reset the text size on your system. Maybe you have a scroll mouse and accidentally while holding the ctrl key scrolled and that will reduce or increase your font sizes. My brother is notorious for doing that and wondering what happened to his font size. Also go to "View" on the IE browser and select "font size" and set it there to size you want. Close browser and open it again and see if it stayed to what you set.
Just a thought on fonts size changes to take into consideration.
OH!
There is another setting in the computer which I can't think where it is right now but it lets you override and show only the fonts you want it to show. Something may have reset thos setting and you are seeing what you system wants it to show not the fonts on the web. If all web pages ebay or anywhere else has same fonts showing that may be case???

If it were just one person irked, I'd say the settings were probably wrong - but so many of us are having problems that can't be the culprit.

I looked at my auctions in both Firefox and IE.

Yes it does sound strange. I looked at all my old auctions as I have noting listed in last 2 days but don't see any difference in old auctions. I don't plan to list until after Christmas so will keep this board in observation to see if I am going to have a problem later. Hope it works out for everyone.

Just in case anyone wants to know I found that setting for overriding web fonts here is just for those that might want to know.

You can override the font size that the Web page sets and use whatever font size you've chosen as the default on the View, Text Size menu and/or the Font that you've chosen in the Font Options in your browser.
In Internet Explorer: Click: Tools, Options, General.
Click the Accessibility button.
Click the check box next to Ignore Font Sizes Specified on Web pages and/or the check box next to Ignore Font Styles Specified on Web pages.
Click OK on each window to close it.

Hello,

UPDATE:

We contacted eBay and they said they are aware of the error and working to get it corrected.

Unfortunately it sounds like they are *just* starting to look into this as they were still looking for other examples to use.

After looking with a magnifying glass at my auctions....I checked the EBay message boards and there are many many complaints on several boards.

Here we are one day later and they are still a huge mess.

One person posted that he had contacted eBay and they told him they were "escalating" the problem! GGrrrrr!

Mine are appearing fine now. It looks like, at least for me, eBay has fixed the problem and my write ups are normal size fonts once again.
