today i decided to change back to my regular e-mail address. I went to e-bay then to pay pal to change things so that it all of the e-mail addresses were the same again.

Well as soon as i closed out the address (mail step) at pay pal all of my payments went into a state of limbo . as all of the requests and payments still went to the mail step address. It then caused my spam assassin to lock up and to get it to accept mail strep again i had clean out all of the saved address that were there for blocked senders.

So if you change your mail step address do it at ebay and leave paypal alone. all of the current billing that you have will hnewed the address to complete the sale. And till of the bids have been closed or re-bid the pay pal system will need the mailstemp address.
that is what happen top me.

Hi there,

It might be better to save your mailstep address in your Paypal account as a secondary address instead of replacing it altogether. I'm fairly certain that if you do this, you will be able to process your pending payments and new payments will go to the new address. As soon as payments stop being received from the mailstep address, you can go ahead and delete that address from Paypal.

Thanks,

Diana

Hi. I have the same problem, but have survived the initial shock of payments going to the wrong address. What I would like to know is how long am I going to be getting payments to the wrong address? It has now been more than a week since I dumped the "mailstep" address, yet I am still getting payments there. I have changed ebay's registered email address, and the mailstep address at paypal is not primary. Yet basically all payments through paypal go to the mailstep address. What have I missed? Any help would be more than I have right now.

as i started this thread i will tell that Pay pal still sends my payments that way to. So It seems that we must leave well enough alone and not change it again.
Thanks

Hello Jimed57,

If the address stored here is correct, and PayPal payments are still being submitted to the wrong email address, this is most likely the result of a glitch on eBay's side.

Unfortunately, since the problem is with eBay's system, in order to work around it you will need to go to eBay and launch a 'test' listing. When you create the listing, you will have the opportunity to change the email address stored in step 4 of the listing process. Once you continue past step 4 of the listing process the issue should be eliminated (if it is not, please try again and this time launch the test listing.) You will only need to do this once as long as you update the email address during the create listing process on eBay. **NOTE - this will only correct the issue for new listings. Existing listings will need to be revised individually to remove the incorrect PayPal email address.

If you've never created a listing on eBay, just log in to your eBay account and click the "Sell" link in their menu. This will start the listing creation process.

Regards,

Sonya
