Bleck...I'm now using sparedollar and I'm very disenchanted, I'm thinking of using Vendio and experimenting with creating aucitons etc. I have my own html for my own template on my auctions at this time and would love to use it here. Now I am so overwhelmed with it all. Does anyone know how to do this. I would love to use the same template that I have or something exactly like it.

Hello,

You can use the Vendio custom template workshop to recreate most any templates you have been using.

Click here to start the tour on creating your own custom templates using the Vendio tools.

Did you get the information you needed?

There are several areas you can set:
--The layout choices over on the left of the template workshop page control where your pictures go with a little preview thumbnail to look at to help choose.
--The Title rolls into the title bar area.
--The description for the individual item gets rolled in as the first text item.
--Then right under the description information you wrote for the item the "default listing text" rolls in if you want it (on the page it will look like a continuation of the description unless you insert a visible divider as part of your html). That is the stuff that you want to say for every auction right up there with the item description information, but it is the same unchanged for every auction regardless of item offered.
--Then there are two boxes on your shipping/payment information default screens to put text or html in for a custom payment and a custom shipping note. Those texts will appear in your listing right under the "Payment" and "Shipping" template subheadings and above the data Vendio rolls in for you that you set for shipping $$$, and payment types.
---Finally, if you pick a completely customizable template choice in the template designer, there are several boxes to enter various types of "Custom Listing Text" set up any way you want to. These can be turned on or off for listings so they show or not and can be titled anything you wish. The main heading for that section will also appear as a link at the top if you set those links to be viewable. Only the completely customizable templates show the Custom Listing Text sections, but the other templates show all the rest of the areas.

Anywhere you put in text you can do html and add graphics, lines and dividers, animations, scrolling marquees-- anything in your listing you want that is legal on ebay. You can paste the code in for a free gallery or your SD gallery wherever you want: among the paragraphs of your item description, as part of the default listing text section, or down in the custom text sections, for instance. (If you use the Vendio gallery let them roll it in at the top or bottom for you automatically because the item category selections for display function differently if you paste the code in yourself.)

A good way to get an idea of how to use the template designer system to best advantage is do an advanced search on ebay for the phrase "free Vendio custom templates" plus click the tick box to "search in both the title and description". That will pull you up the listings of sellers who use the Vendio templates to list, and you can cruise through and see how people are setting them up.

After that it is just a matter of writing some text and/or html in your default text boxes to experiment with. Don't feel you have to write everything at once. You can just type "title", "this is my default listing text", "my payment note", "my shipping note", "my custom text #1", etc. and save them. Then play around with the template designer features for color, frame, font, headings, borders, etc. to see where the stuff comes up on the page and how it looks. Good luck!
