I have a little peave against eBay and I wonder if some of you other Old Time eBayers feel the same way.
About three years ago when I started using eBay their Feedback system was designed a little different. At that time the "neutral" button was first on the left, the "positive' button was in the middle, and the " negative" button was on the right. Now it happened to me on three ocasions that people that wanted to give me nice and positive feedback clicked the first button they came to which was the "neutral" feedback button. To show you what I mean, here are the three feedbacks given me 2-3 years ago:
1. Oct-23-98 19:59:56 PST
Neutral: Super smooth transaction with fast payment! Highly recommend to all ebay users
2. Aug-28-97 11:12:43 PST
Neutral: Prompt payment~Great communication~Excellent Transaction~DESERVES STAR!!
3. Sep-25-97 08:17:22 PST
Neutral: Great Customers! Fast to Pay, Great Communication! And Very Nice People! THANKS!

Now I have 150 positive feedbacks and three neutral feedbacks, which by the way were left by users that are no longer registered with eBay. Still, I feel that I have this "neutral" stigma and I have to live with it even thought the users are no longer registered.
I have suggested to eBay that since it was their fault in having a badly designed system that allowed me to receive the neutral feedbacks, they should delete all neutral feedbacks from that era, especially if the user is no longer registered. Of course, eBay has not paid any attention to me.
Are there any others Old Timers out there that feel the same as I do? Is there any way we can get eBay to pay attention?
Thanks Old Timers for listening. I wish eBay would.

OK fine then what about comments like this.

Oct-27-98 17:59:27 PST
Neutral: Worst transaction ever, avoid this seller like the plague.

This is just one of the many comments left by people who were to chicken to leave a negative. I say eBay should go in and make them all negatives.

OK fine then also........... I had my feedback file "bombed" by a wingnut back in summer of 97, he left 11 negative comments in my file, count em 11! Ebays feedback arbitrator won't remove em either! Move on, and consider yourself lucky!

I believe this doesn't matter anyway. If I am not mistaken ebay changes feedback to neutrals once the person is no longer registered. so machts nichts.

I agree with your first post, they (ebay) should of taken care of all of this when they went to transactional feed back only. All of the newbies don't care as it has never affected them so they say things like it doesn't matter, but it does to you as you took the time to post this question.
Go out into the maze and find some new cheese!

llama_lady: eBay no longer changes feedback to neutral when an account is NARU'd. (Stopped last year sometime, I think.)
