I just received an e-mail from Ebay about shipping services possibly offered in the future by Ebay. It is here:
http://www.customercast.com/ebay0001i/survey.cgi?marker=sqgBnyy53q0PxdEseAFGNK

Did anyone else receive this survey?

Yes I got it. Yet another bad idea. This
However is about the worst yet. I hope nobody
is stupid enough to sign up for such a
ridiculous service. The only benefit would
be for persons who have bubble wrap or styro
peanut phobias.

Yes, I got it and so did a friend of mine. Seems like there are many people in the "small, select group" chosen to do this survey. Oh well, they got my two cents worth.

Well, another blow to my ego...it is not a select group...only those of us who clicked "yes" on the Preference Page and agreed to participate in surveys... Darn! Thought I was something for a moment...

My opinion only: I will never again use a shipping co...
I like my own packing much better, find all the free supplies I want, use the Online Postage Calculator...

I wonder how many people will pay....

I can tell you that I used MBE one time and it was such a BAD experience that I will NEVER step foot in one again, let alone PAY them to pack my fragile items and ship them! Sheesh!

I prefer to pack to my own high standards. In two years, I have only had ONE item that was damaged in transit. (I guess those 26 times that we have moved to a new residence, sometimes over 1,000 miles away, have paid off in teaching me how to pack! )

Besides, I always prepack and list the cost of shipping right in my ads along with the method of shipping. If it is too heavy for a set cost, then I list the weight of the package and offer to get the amount for them if they send a zip code. It has worked very well. I just don't get why Ebay thinks this is a value added service.

I received a survey too, but I couldn't foresee myself using any of these services. I have been selling/shipping for so long I have it down to a science!

But I don't blame eBay for at least asking the questions -- they are a business looking for ways to make money -- and what if a lot of people thought this would be a great idea? (I don't see it myself, but hey! Sometimes you have to ask questions to figure out whether something is a good or bad idea.)

I found some of the questions to be "leading" and I also wish there had been a space for comments.

I can't imagine using a shipping service for anything other than something very fragile and super expensive and hard to ship.

Years ago I worked in a camera store and learned how to professionally pack something. We used OOPS (aka UPS) and it was a matter of pride to do things that would survive the perilous journey.

All those screaming/whining shipping gouging extremists would have a field day if we were to charge more because we used a shipping service.

I hd to ship something heavy (a 50 pound computer) I went to MBE and their rate for UPS ground was 3 times what UPS charged on their website and twice as much a FedEx standard. I thi9nk that ebay will be announcing a "relationship" with MBE. I feel sorry for all of the smaller sellers that will pay MBE inflated prices and think they are getting a "deal"

Interesting survey ... Unfortunately, there was no choice called "When Pigs Fly", nor "When hell Freezes Over".

I have used MBE and had piss-poor results. My blind granny could pack better than they do, and their rates are outrageous!
