Three weeks ago my bank advised me that a buyer's cheque had been cleared. I posted the item, the buyer received it, left no feedback, but to my shock I got an e-mail from my bank reading the cheque was bounced NOT PAID). I contacted the buyer, who apologized and promised to send a money order instead. Since then, however, neither have I heard from her nor received the payment. What would you do if you were me?

In the USA, anyone who sends a bad check may be liable for mail fraud. A dead-pan letter to the Buyer concerning all of the legal steps that you'll take if payment is not made with a money order promptly is the usual route. Make sure that you include the bounced check fee that was in your EOAB under the part where you give your check acceptance policy as well!

To your surprise I am from Hungary. I have a bank account with a bank situated in the States. They have sent me the bounced cheque, but I'm afraid I don't know what legal steps I could make. I even left her positive feedback when receiving the payment. So it's quite annoying!

Kiss your money goodbye, then just pass it on to the next customers. When you shop in department stores you're paying for all the thieves merchandice too.
