It sure would be helpful if the AuctionWatch software engineers would give us the average current processing time it takes to launch an auction. When it takes hours to process an auction launch or bounce back later with error messages (like it has recently...aaarrrrrggggg!!!) the auction can end up in the middle of the night (aaaarrrrgggg again). With the Auction Launch Average Current Processing Time, I could decide to launch it on a later date. It is an easy task to program this. How about it guys? Help us out! Who else would like to see this?

geared,

I'm sorry I can't be of help, but if you'll post your question in the AuctionWatch Services Forum, a Customer Care Rep will be happy to answer your questions.

Good luck with your auctions!

It's hard for them to know when Ebay is going to belch--though this week it seems to be about 6:00 p.m. Pacific.

They cannot launch until Ebay accepts the auctions and they cannot possibly know how long Ebay will be down when Ebay doesn't even know.

geared I know that it would be an easy task if there were a known constant at the other end of the line and all they had to do was to tell you a time based on the number of auctions in the queue.

However, when Ebay goes down, there is no way for AW to know when Ebay will be back up in order to begin emptying their queue. The best that they could do is to say, "once Ebay is back up, you are number XXX in the queue and we estimate that it will take XXX hours from that time to launch your auctions."

Once Ebay is back up and the queue begins to empty, they would be able to give you an estimate of the time it would take from that point.

My auctions had been processing for 1 hr and 20 minutes tonight, so I had to go in and cancel them....Has anyone tried to launch their auctions from the eBay site and had any luck??? I just don't think its eBay (even if I am sure they added some type of frustration to this problem) but Auctionwatch keeps giving me an error if I try to re-launch....with no details except to say it might launch later....well duh!!! I try to launch 5 auctions a night....well tonight, lets see...oh yeh...I launched a big fat 0.....still processing....still processing...still processing (running from my computer screaming and pulling my hair)

labbie1,

Your suggestion is good. That kind of message would be helpful also. Let's see if the AW guys will follow-up and do it. How about it guys?

Thanks,
geared

Received same errors. Relaunched my auctions for same time, same place tomorrow pm. No need to cancel! What difference will a day make? Evidently EBAY has too much business or too little memory. What else could AuctionWatch do?

Personally, I don't care to know how long it is going to take my auctions to get out of the queue. If they don't launch when I wanted them to due to Ebay, well, it doesn't matter when they go. I can cancel or wait for them to serendipitously be able to get through to Ebay.

I just don't see taking up AW resources that are busy trying to launch thousands of auctions to tell me that my auctions are going to launch hours late maybe IF Ebay comes back up and IF all of Ebay's resources come up at the same time and IF Ebay is clear to list bulk auctions at that time. A lot of IF's and trouble for AW to utilize resources just to tell me that my auctions are 3-6-9 hours late.

What would be better is if Ebay would be like Yahoo so that people could list during the day, but end in the evenings. That way Ebay's resources would not be so stretched with auctions being listed and ended at the same time while snipers and bidders are trying to get in to bid--especially on the "hot" nights at the "hot" times.

Now THAT would be an improvement!
