I've been mightily annoyed at esnipe recently. Bids placed with a 10 second buffer have had about a 20 percent success rate of getting through. Lately, 20 seconds hasn't always been enough. I've currently got it set to 35 seconds, which is basically not sniping!

What buffer do you usually use, and what's your success rate?

Depends on ebay, if they are up I find 7 seconds do just fine, but if they are down you cannot bid any way. I match my unsuccessful bids to the TAG notes site, and 95% show an ebay outage.

Check their site for their success time charts and adjust accordingly.

The only time I lose is when the bid comes too low.

FYI we have had no problems using the snipe at www.vrane.com.

I've used 20 seconds consistently, and have won the majority of the auctions I've esniped, unless there was a higher proxy bid.
