because I have never run in to this before...Recently I had an auction close for a CDRom drive, MIB,received the payment, deposited the check, and shipped the item. Two weeks later, the box was returned to me as "Refused". I emailed this customer to ask what the problem was and, after 3 days, she emailed back stating that she had decided to buy a new system and didn't need this item. She admitted that she "probably should have told me". In the meantime, her check cleared and I have this item. My instinct is to mail it back to her stating that my TOS says that I "will refund only if the item is not as described"...However, today I got this email from her "No I haven't stopped payment on the check. If you could send me a
money
order or reimburse me through pay pal that would be alright. Again, I
hate this had to happen like this. I currently have web tv, when I get
a
regular desktop I will leave great feedback for you! You deserve it
for
having to deal with this..." What do I do now???

She is really dreaming isn't she?
I would tell her that if she sends the money to cover shipping the unit back to her, that you will be happy to send it again. Otherwise, the deal is done far as I can see.

Oh... and I would not ship again until her check was CLEAR.

Refund her money, less postage, and a restocking fee 10-15%.Least you wouldnt lose money that way. Hope it will go over well for you!

Hi, Bondsgirl199...I would move on, return the bidders money less shipping and handling fees by personal check, file for FVF as "mutually agreed" and relist the item as soon as you can. Feedback is up to you, although if it were me I would leave a neutral calmly stating the facts.

I started out with nothing and still have most of it left.

Let's see, the buyer has WebTV but bought a cd-rom drive, she has ordered a new system, but says she is still on WebTV and can't leave feedback? This sounds like a tale to me. I'll bet if you don't send her the money back she'll figure out how to leave feedback soon enough.

I would probably refund minus shipping and fees and leave a neutral just to have it done and over with. But, you certainly could go by your own TOS as well. I would not pay for a money order, you accepted her personal check, she should be willing to do the same. You need a better paper trail of the transaction anyway, since my gut tells me she is not being honest.

Tell her she has 30 days to get you a Postal MO (ONLY) for shipping back to her you will disburse of the item as you see fit and there will be no refund. She is a rude and nasty bidder and should learn not to bid on items she either can't afford or an item she is bidding on more then once to see if she can get it cheaper. I would only have done the refund -25% restock and all applicable fees had she not wasted my time. She probably got one cheaper and decided she wanted the money back from you. If she wants the money for the item she should sell it.

Thanks, Guys...My first instinct was to tell her that I was shipping it back to her and tell her to sell it...but, I think I will go ahead and deduct my fees, as well as a 25% handling fee and write her a check...I didn't think that Web TV could keep her from giving feedback...and I DID wonder about her need for a CDrom drive for a Web Tv...Yes, I agree, she is lying her a** off...You have all made great sense of this situation...appreciate it!
