I just received an email from BidPay. Seems as though one of the winners of one of my auctions is trying to pay through these guys.
Only problem is, is that I don't accept BidPay payments (I think).
I'm not a member, nor do I wish to be.
Will BidPay send me the money even though I'm not a member? Anyone?
Thanks,
Phil

Can't tell you if they will send you payment if you do't register, somehow they need an address. Hopefully someone else knows.
Think of Bidpay as a place where your customers can purchase a money order on line (because that's how it works). Rather than going to a bank or 7/11, your bidder will go online and purchase a Western Union MO and Bidpay mails that to you directly.
No charge to you. It just that the bidder has bought it online. All you see is a MO, just like any other transaction.

Bill....
I think they (BidPay) wants to make sure that the winner gave them the right address on where to send the M.O.
Do you know if I need to confirm the address with BidPay?

They are very reliable and you do not need to register. The customer (your buyer) provides them with your address, just check it for accuracy and wait for the 2nd email from Bidpay and you're in.

You do NOT have to confirm the address if it is correct - and you do not have to register.
I have gotten at least 20 payments from them and I am not registered. The MO usually comes in 3 or 4 days.

I've had three buyers use BidPay so far, and I haven't registered there yet. Just make sure your address is correct in the first email and do nothing. You'll get the second confirmation email fairly quick, and the money order in a few days. It's great in my opinion. You can ship the item after you receive the second email.

You don't need to register (I've never bothered).
In fact you don't have to do anything at all except check the e-mail to make sure that your address is correct. If it isn't, e-mail back immediately with the right address. I only did that once when my buyer forgot to include the word "Canada" in the address.
You should receive 2 e-mails. The second e-mail will tell you that BidPay has mailed the money order to you. At this point I usually ship to the customer. However, you can wait until you receive the money order (it's mailed from New York).

Nope, you don't have to be a member or sign-up although they'll send you email suggesting that you do.
They'll still send you the money order that you buyer purchased from them. The buyer gives them the address to send it to.
I've never signed-up and have received a few money orders from them. I just treat it like any other money order/payment and ship the item when I receive it.

Have used Bidpay without being a member. They email you that someone is paying you the person paying puts in your address and other data. You do not have to respond if your data in the first email is correct. They then send you another email telling you the check is in the mail. You will receive a Western Union Money order and there is no cost to you the seller.
I have had several buyers use it and have found it to be a very good service!

Phbroz: As a bidder, I've used Bidpay three times to pay for auctions and I think it's great. I pay a $5.00 fee for the service but I don't mind. I don't live near the PO so my time and gas to get a postal MO is worth the five bucks to me.
As far as I can tell, the bidder does all the work and pays the fee and the seller sits back and waits for the MO.

As a seller I love it. The most hassle free payment there is. As a buyer I don't know if I'd like the $5.00 fee.
