I have a bidder who wants to use paypal to send me $300.00. If he has $20.00 in his paypal account where does the extra money come from, his credit card or bank account? One spot says any money over your current balance will be charged to your cc but to send over 250.00 you also need to be a verified user and have a bank account on file. And states you can use your bank account to fund your paypal account. So, again, send $300.00 with a $20.00 balance, where does it come from?

Hope I made that clear!

Its up to the buyer, he can select to pay from either. PayPal has it set up to encourage people to pay from their bank account if that's any help. Bottom line is the buyer chooses.

As a buyer I can answer this one. You have the choice of credit card or bank account. Paypal offers you a discount if you take it from your bank account. As a seller, if I pay with my bank account, it does not count as part of your six month limit.

Concerning the Buyer's Desire to Pay via PayPal for $300.00 item. Where it comes from is really not an issue as long as you confirm it is in your account. The Buyer is responsible for paying regardless of where it comes from but please make sure it is in your account prior to shipping and don't just go by the generated email from PayPal. I received one such email and the funds were never transferred because the buyer's credit card was over limit. She continued to try to convince me I was "paid" because she received the same email though was never actually charged

It's a BIG issue if you don't want to go over the $500 limit for personal accounts.

ubiedaman a debit card linked to a PayPal account does act like a credit card. For those of you that do have a debit card and bank account attached to your account: if you decide to pay with the checking account and the debit card is for the same account, they will hold your money twice until it clears. I never pay with my checking account now.

Update, got paid today.
Paypal = $250.00
Exchangepath = $75.00

I'm happy, he's happy, it's over. Thanks to everyone for their comments!
