I have been selling for over a year and a half and I have an excellent record.

This weekend I experienced a medical problem that has kept me from shipping my items. I have about 7 items that I haven't shipped that should have been shipped. The delay will be around 3 or 4 days.

This was totally unexpected and I may have to have a minor surgery to correct the problem. (Female problems, uggg)

I will find out tomorrow or Thursday if I need the surgery. In the meantime my doc has suggested that I keep my activity level down, including keeping time spent at the computer down to a min.

I am not sure how to handle this with my customers. Would they believe the truth?

Do I simply apologize for late shipping, or explain what happened? Do I offer a note from my doctor? That one would go over well - my doc is the sister of a famous actress - They really would think I was making it up!!

Anyone have any ideas?

Do be sure to write to your winners and tell them that the shipping will be delayed by a few days. I'd tell them you've unexpectedly been called away - if you tell them you've got a medical problem, they'll probably reply and then you'll have to answer each of their messages as well.

Best of luck to ya!

I would go with Glenda's suggestion. Write and say that you want to let them know that there packages will have a slight delay due to a medical condition and that you will send them as quickly as you can. Ask them to check your feedback and feel confident that you will do as much as you can for them. I wouldnt get into a long explanation about what you had done or give your doc's name etc. That is nobody's business. Just be up front with them, let them know to expect a slight delay and am sure they will understand. Hope you are feeling better!

I guess you have no family or friends who would take the packages to the Post Office? Or are they not processed for mailing yet?
