Hello,
I am in a situation where a bidder won one of my auctions, they paid on time, I sent them the package, everything was fine. They left me positive feedback. A few days later they e-mailed me asking me to leave feedback. I did not, as I have a schedule for leaving feedback--my intention was to certainly leave positive feedback, but just not exactly when they asked for it. The next day they emailed me again with a little stringer request, then this morning I awake to find they have sent me 3 emails saying that since I have not left feedback for them yet, they have decided to bid on some more of my items so that they can leave me more feedback (which I suppose means negative, but they did not say the word negative) They then e-mailed me with the item numbers of the auctions they had bid on so I could see that. I also got an e-mail showing they pulled up my contact information. By then, I was angry so I left them a postive feedback, saying payment received. They then responded to this saying they had to beg me for a week for this, and thanks for nothing. I have 500 plus feedback and I consider myself a good seller. I have never run into this before, where I have been hassled for feedback. I always leave positive feedback for my bidders, and have never had any complaints about the time factor. (I usually leave it within one to two weeks.) Now I have this person bidding on two of my items. What should I do? Would you cancel their bids? I do not want to be mean, but I feel that this person has been very pushy. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

Cancel their bids. Some might say "Let it go", but don't.

It is obvious they don't, or at least at the time, were not going to honor their bids. Their intentions are pure - to screw you over.

Sellers have reserved the right to cancel any bids, you don't even need to say your reason.

If you don't want them to bid on your auctions again, e-mail them and forward that e-mail to SafeHarbor.

If they bid again, tell SafeHarbor and watch them get NARU'd fast.

My feelings are that I am in a business that requires customer service, and some customers require a little more service that others. I take care of my selling chores to meet their schedule, not mine, to the extent that it is possible.

How hard would it have been to leave them a feedback when they asked? Not saying it was right or wrong of them to be so impatient, but this is what dealing with the public is all about.

Hi. What a pain! I would email them asking them not to bid again on any of my auctions and would then cancel any bids they have placed. I would then email a copy of this to Safeharbour, along with copies of their earlier threatening emails. If nothing else this may help you in the future if they snipe an auction and then leave a neg.
Finally I would pull their contact info and send them a very, very short email. "Please, do NOT mess with me."
Good luck

Now let me get this straight! This person took the time to bid on your auction, pay for the item, wait to receive it and left you positive feedback. You could not take 1 minute to leave feedback when they asked? Who is the problem here? Certainly not the bidder, send him to my auctions, please.

rarriffle I'm sorry, but if a bidder started to threaten me because I didn't leave feedback when they told me to I would be more than a little annoyed. Whether dch66 should have left feedback earlier or not is totally irrelevant. Would you allow someone to threaten you like that in real life, to your face? I know what I would do. The customer is not always right. I do make allowances for people who are rude, short, late with payments and many, many other things. I will NOT let anyone threaten me.

At any time did you politely explain to them that you have a schedule for leaving feedback & would be leaving positive feedback for them at that time...or did you ignore their first & subsequent requests regarding it?

So, rariffle, you think that the bidder's actions in this case were justified?

Please.

Don't wait to see if they bid "again." Do it NOW. Cancel this nutcase's bids, email them not to bid again, and let them know that what they're doing is against ebay regs. CC SafeHarbor, attaching this bidder's emails and notifying them that this bidder is in violation of at least one of these FB rules:

Shill feedback, offensive - Using eBay User IDs or other eBay members to leave several negative comments for another user
(commonly called feedback bombing).

Feedback extortion - Demanding any action of a fellow user that he or she is not required to do, at the threat of leaving negative feedback.

Well either way weather you bend to your buyer requests or you dont.

I am wondering since the person had already won an auction and already left this seller a feed back even if they bid on more auctions and gave the seller a neg it wouldnt count on the feed back numbers a buyer can only add or subtract from your numbers once since this buyer left 1 postive feed back this is the one that will show up and stand out !?!?!?!

HCQ Thanks for that - I was beginning to think I see the World in a totally different way from everyone. This buyer is a creep and should be removed from eBay as quickly as possible. No one should have to put up with that.

While I'm here, may I congratulate you Americans on having the most fun, entertaining electoral system in existance. What a giggle

Could you please give me the email of Safe Harbor?

Also: Say I do cancel the bids, and CC his emails to safe harbor. Say he does it again and gets NARU'd. Couldn't he just re-register again and start in on me again as a different user? What I'm wondering is--should I just let the auctions close, and then he may give me a negative and I suppose I would give him one back and then he'd get it out of his system? Don't get me wrong, I am not encouraging negatives or any such thing, but I just want this to be over---he seems like the kind of person who will just keep on and keep on.

I am not saying the bidder is right for threatening, that is never right. What I'm saying is that this seller should have gone ahead and left the feedback when he asked. The deal would have then been finished. In other words, don't ignore requests based on your own whims then act surprised when someone gets upset.

Ok, rarriffle, I appreciate your input. Do you have any suggestions on what I should do now?

To all that responded, many thanks. I really appreciate your help. I did as a few suggested, and contacted safe harbor, and cc'd a copy to the bidder. I also emailed the emails I received from the bidder to safe harbor, and cancelled their bids. Hopefully this will clear this situation up. Thanks again for the guidance!
