I bought one this last weekend at a yard sale. It has everything. It is a 45 calibur, powder and ball only. Flintlock or percussion. Its a kit and has the die set to make the ball, and does need to be put together. Still in the box. Barrel has serial number too. So, I cant sell this on ebay, can I? It is a weapon, but it is a kit for someone to put together. Any suggestions on where I can list it if I cant do so at ebay?

I think this link will answer the listing question:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/rulesandsafety/42020013.html

As far as where else to list, not too sure about that one. Good luck,

David.

According to the link supplied above, ebay wont allow anything that is a projectile ready item. Not even a bb gun. I went to check out a few gun sites and its very confusing, as well as a PITA to list this thing. It isnt an antique...its a reproduction kit. But it does have all the goodies to it. Date on the box is 1973. Thanks for the help, anyway.

One more question. If it was YOURS, and you wanted to sell it to a relative or friend, what would you sell it for? Im thinking my brother in law might want it. But I have no idea what to ask for it.

mauimoods,

You might try to list it on http://www.gunbroker.com

They even have a Black Powder Replicas category.

Hello, I sell items such as you mentioned along with native american/early frontier items. This kit would do well on auction arms...thats where I started selling my similar items since ebay got so anal about it. If you try auction arms there is no listing/commissions up to 200. a month. If its over that, you can buy a two week "large dealers license" for 9.95. I have not tried anything like that on ebay since the stopped firearms....but I have had good luck on auctions arms. The same with gunbroker. Try there.....Pam

Thanks for the info minx47 and cybercat. I did go look, but couldnt find anything like what I have (kit, not put together and with the die cast to make the balls). However, I got an idea of what it may be worth if I sell it to my brother-in-law. I would rather have listed it, but I dont know nuttin' about rules and regulations of selling firearms, so Im not sure what to do with this thing yet. Maybe I could find someone who DOES know that stuff, to sell it and split it 50/50. Dunno...still kicking it around. Anyway..thanks again!
