I can't help but run across the king and queen of the feedback on eBay and each time I'm more impressed. 1074 positive feedbacks in one week... damn, that's serious business. When I look at that operation I see a model setup, 1 cent minimum bid, no reserve and results that raise the eyebrows. I tip my hat to Marie and company. I'd love to see them give more tips on the message board but I can see how time must be limited having to fill out so many feedbacks each day.

What's so impressive about it? Her negative feedback ratio really isn't very good, and her auction page template is nothing to write home about either.

With regards to our feedback ratio, gBoy, PBA that we believe that tending to the 99.5% of our customers who are super is far more important than wasting time and energy on the 0.5% who, frankly, are simply not good people or do not understand common courtesy or business practices. Negative feedback does not both me, nor does it bother eBay. If it bothers you, for example, you will want to do your business elsewhere. I suspect I will never be everything you expect me to be.
I believe that many of the people who struggle and fail on eBay are those who fail to differentiate the good customers from the bad ones. My priorities lie with those customers who help me make money.

I'm not criticizing you, I'm just criticizing those who think that your feedback is so impressive. There are plenty of sellers with 1000+ feedback and no negs. Now those are sellers that these people should be impressed with instead.

gb, I have to disagree with you. Their feedback is impressive and their negative feedback is incredibly low for their amount. I'm inclined to believe with such an excellent track record the negs were left by unreasonable people as Marie said. Some people are just pricks. And they are in the tens of thousands, not thousands.

There are many other sellers with over 10,000 feedback and a whole lot less negatives who are a lot more impressive.
Michelle: I edited out the user id's, will that suffice?

If getting an amount of feedback in a week what would take the rest of us years to achieve is not impressive, I don't know what is.
Hats off.

Would you kindly send a courtesy invitation to the 3 Sellers you have identified to participate in the discussion (with a CC to [email protected] please). Under normal circumstances, the CGs would require the thread to be locked now but if you will send the invitation, I will waive the lock down period in this instance.
Thanks for your cooperation.

What's always impressed me about "onecent" is that it is a small family run business, it's incredible the amount of time and effort these seller's put into their auctions, and into the post-sale completion. They really are a "Powerseller" in my book!!

Not even close
Those are impressive numbers from those 3 sellers, but Marie has managed to get more FB than all three put together in a week's time. Selling used CDs as opposed to new products has to have more risks. Another difference that may not matter (but impresses me) is all those bids are starting at 1 cent, and I don't see any dutch bids on Maries auctions. I'm not knocking any of the other high volume sellers, but when you break 1000 FB in one week... that got to be one busy, busy email.

I have deleted your post because it named 3 eBay Sellers.
Everyone,
Please remember that the CGs require that Sellers or bidders identified during a discussion must be invited to participate in the thread - doesn't matter how high their feedback is, how high profile they are, or whether they are already AW community members. In some instances (depending on the tone of the discussion in progress) the Moderator on duty will waive the lock down period. Please take the requirements outlined in the CGs into consideration before you post.
Thank you for your cooperation.

The only sellers I know with over 1,000 feedbacks and no Negatives do not impress me. They do not leave Negative feedback to the deadbeats that don't pay them.
If they don't leave Negative feedbacks the feedback system does not work. That makes them part of the problem.

I think anyone that generates that much feedback in a week all positives is doing a great job.
If they are getting that many positives then that means they are shipping approx 2000 items a week.
I wonder how many of us could do that.Plus this is not a perfect world and negs are to be expected.
I wonder if those who feel there are too many negs if they could handle that many customers in a retail store each week and not get complaints to the manager about you.
Someone would find you at fault somewhere.
I have worked in retail for many years and have people complain about me for to the manager for no other reason than I was foreign and stealing American jobs.
So if that was internet that would be a neg for me right there and have nothing to do with the transaction.
I have close to 3000 with 2 negs and even have people email me that, that was unacceptable.
Go figure

It's probably a good thing that Marie has those whom come here to say how great her stuff is. I haven't bid on a CD yet only because I haven't found anything that I want (notice I said yet). But I can NEVER view her feedback. It times out before anything comes up so I have no idea how many negatives she has.
In any amount, how many feedbacks she receives and how much business she does (I admit, I get tired of browsing through the many pages of listings!) is pretty impressive and must be exhausting for both she and those other sellers with high numbers (not quite there myself!)
edited because I did something to cause a little winking face to show up!

Well, I am impressed with anyone who can get that much done in a week - of course the product is one which is easy to handle, but I'd hate to think of shipping that much and I have a full time assistant - It is always interesting to see what others are doing.

I am curious, how does one do a search for those with the highest feedback rating - I have never thought about other's ratings, and wouldn't have the foggiest on how to search for such on eBay.

Their negative feedback is not incredibly low. 45000 positives and 270 negatives is not that good. I believe that is about 6 negatives for every 1000 positives. I only get 0.6 negatives per 1000 positives. Many other sellers do even better.

HI Marie -
Before I noticed the correct ID posted here, I went on and tried to find you. I typed it in close-but-not-quite and found that someone with 0 FB just started listing a bunch of CD's about a week ago. Maybe you are used to imitators, though?

1/2 of 1% negative is not impressive?...99.5% positive is not impressive?
From my point of view it is dang impressive!

When you factor in the fact that verifiable pains in the asses exist and bid on ebay, her feedback is absolutely sterling. For crying out loud - if you have a rating of ten, she ships you the CD without receiving payment! It doesn't get much better than her, both in a brick-and-mortar business and online. Can someone say j-e-a-l-o-u-s?

Another angle on users with 1000 positives and no negs is, oops, this may be a seller who won't leave justifiable negs for fear of a retaliatory neg. Is this good for the online auction community?

Well if I was a seller of medium volume I woudlnt leave negs either lest I get a retalitory one and have to hide my FB and be ostricized!

Geez, I wish someone would send the three sellers involved an invitation already so I can check them out - My curiosity is peaked and my hubby is an avid (OK, closer to rabid) music collector.
We as sellers cannot control people who want to give negative ratings for whatever. Sure, before bidding I check out the negatives people have - and check out the person's FB that gave the negative. Usually you can see a pattern on their FB.
Whoever you guys are if you don't want to list on this board please email me at [email protected] I would love to check out your auctions!
Happy New Year to all!

Uh, EVERY SELLER has to put up with these same pains in the asses!
If 6 negs per 1000 is sterling, then what is 0.6 negs per 1000?

She has to put up with them on a grander scale, and she has dealt with much more people. You can't take seller A's 50,000 transactions and seller B's 1000 transactions and conclude that they are both dealing with the same exact statistical sampling, just scaled down 1:50.
Finally, consider that she was plugging away well before feedback was transactional only.
