It is good to know That the feds do nab people for internet crime for sure.
Big problem here is that this has been know since 1994 when AOL turned over personal info on some users for child porn.
the arrests of big time warez dealers, hackers, and much more resently people found to have writen and spearding viruses on the internet and the court cases over Music piricy with MP3.com and napster.
This continued media blitz of online internet fraud just adds to the ever thickening dark cloud over all internet buying and fuels the Idea all privite seller on the net are out to rip you off.
There has been so much of this news in the last 18 months about online auctions that its had to tell if the goverment is trying to control , slow down, or just plain kill internet sales all togeather through the media working on peoples fears.
only thing I can see comeing from this is that less and less people will be buying High end Items on auction over the next few years and auction purchases from $2 to $20 becomeing the standard.
anyone looking to exspand there sale into video games computers eletronics and other high end new, rebuilt and used item will have a rough road and reputation to over come.

Well one good thing is 80% of items sold are paid by paper money(checks and money orders), so since I dont take any online payments I know I am not in the minority.

I would be VERY interested in where they got the 80% figure. My own records show something entirely different. Maybe it depends on what you sell or the number of vendors on eBay who do not accept credit cards? I have a brick & mortar shop and I do eBay sales on the side. Here are some numbers for the year 2000 so far:
Gross income $196,279.40
American Express $17,386.64
Discover 4,878.13
Visa & MasterCard 87,836.15
PayPal 5,053.87
(I have only been offering PayPal since September of this year.)
Total card sales $115,154.79
That is 59% of my total business.
On eBay the numbers are:
Gross sales $24,534.93
PayPal $5,053.87 21%
Telephone credit card sales $9843.23 40%
Checks & Money Orders $9637.83 39%
