I have never had trouble with Bid Bay I always ship after I have the second notice and I know the address the buyer gave me matches the address they gave bid bay.
once they say its in the mail all is clear to go.
I have never waited more then 4 days after the second email before the MO was delivered.

My experiences are few, but so far I'm happy with BidPay.

So far, Bidpay has been very reliable. I ship immediately upon receipt of their second confirmation notice. It is a good option especially for international bidders.

What everybody else is saying. I ship on confirmation (2nd email notice), and have never had a problem.

I accept BidPay payments for a friend selling from Europe, and I receive about 10 per week. He ships as soon as I get the 2nd email. Usually the MO arrives within 5 days, although I've had a couple take as long as 9 days.
It's interesting that the majority of the MO come in the automated/folded check mailer, but I've had one come by Priority Mail and a couple in regular envelopes.

I registered with BidPay and always verify my account before I ship an item. I've seen one of two posts here of fake emails being sent by dishonest buyers. This is not Bidpay's fault and has happened to other companies also. I always recommend to verify the origin of the second confirmation email carefully before you ship. Better safe than sorry. Registration is free and simple to do.

I've used bidpay for over a year with great success, never a problem, just wait for that 2nd confirmation, and then you can ship away

I've only had 2 auctions pay with BidPay (one from the UK, one local US). The first went just fine - got the 2 emails and the money order came as planned. However on the second one I never received the 2nd email from BidPay but about 11 days later came the Western Union Money Order. My account said the MO had been mailed, but the second email with buyer information never came. To play it safe I waited until I received the actual MO to mail the items. I'm going to start using it for my Canadian buyers as I'm going to try to sell to Canada also starting in 2001. The only downer I've seen with BidPay is that you actually CANNOT cash that money order at any Western Union office. I tried both places in my town and neither would cash it! Had to deposit it.

Put it this way: Bidpay is so reliable that if I had to pick one, and only one, payment method for all transactions, it would be Bidpay. Just wish it was more affordable for smaller domestic purchases. But then, you get what you pay for.

I think BidPay is good over all but their customer service is e-mail only (very slow).
I had a problem and tried to call the phone number on their web site and I got an endless loop of recordings without ever being able to talk to anyone, and belive me I tried.
All I was able to accomplish was to waste my money on long distance phone calls.
I had a BidPay Western Union money order for $128.50 come back from my bank stamped "COUNTERFEIT".
I sent an e-mail and tried calling and got nowhere. And to top it off the person that bought this money order was bidding on another one of my auctions. I couldn't get a hold of BidPay to find out what the problem was. I didn't know if the buyer's funds were bad so BidPay cancelled my money order or what was going on.
Well, come to find out BidPay upgraded their printer system and their explanation was that my money order had a bad digit in the code which caused the bank scanner to reject it.
BidPay sent another money order and paid my bank fee.
To sum it up I think BidPay is a good company and you can send your merchandise after receiving the second e-mail but if you need to contact them or if you have a problem don't expect fast service.

Just a note about the cashing -
If they are for an amount that is small enough, you can use them for payment at the post office. The post office will accept them as 'other money orders' to pay for shipping costs if the money order is LESS than the total amount due.
I found this out when I mistakenly handed one to them instead of the postal money order I was going to cash.

Bidpay is the best payment site on the net, but the $500 limit makes it a little weak for "big" auctions like computers and such.
I've used it for a while and had no problems. international bidders love it. Fast payment means quick auction transactions and good feedback
Thanks bidpay!

Just wondering ... what happens if you send your merchandise after you receive the second e-mail and then the money order gets lost in the mail! Does BidPay replace it? I usually wait until I actually get the money order, but I'm noticing that lots of you are sending as soon as you get that second email notice.
