Hi to all, I purchased this lady at a garage sale about 20 years ago and have been trying to find out where she came from ever since. She is porcelain and she is almost creamy to the touch. I have never felt porcelain that actually feels soft before. She stands 6 1/2" high and about 3" across. The only markings are some numbers on the bottom 1067. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

At first, I thought perhaps an unmarked piece of Nippon, but the size throws me.
Then I thought perhaps a "chinoiserie" RS Prussia or Royal Bayreuth. But it looks too heavy. RS Prussia is very light in weight, and has intricate handles. Because it only has a number, I am going to say a Bavarian porcelain, made between 1900 and 1920. It is very attractive, although the lady is more like a child, and not typical of true Japanese decoration. Was there gold on the handles, and perhaps on the foot? Does it feel heavy or light in weight? Does it have a "crackled" background, ivory-color? Or is it plain. From the thickness of the piece, it looks like soft-paste porcelain (ceramic), rather than fine porcelain.

Shosh, you are great with that image size, I was happy to just get the image to show on the first try. No, there is no gold accenting, just shading of the glaze. It is hand painted I know. The piece is very light and fragile. It has a plain background with the flowers on both the front and back of the piece. I just call her my lady.

Well, I still opt for Europe: Either Bavaria, Czechoslovakia or even England, although the handles are so, so RS Prussia/Bavaria! It should bring at last 100.00...But I hate to see you get only that, and it turns out to be an important piece!
