I just got an e-mail from someone that I purchased something from. They state in the auction description that they take paypal, but don't reveal that they charge additional for accepting paypal UNTIL the end of auction e-mail. I know that stating in the auction that they charge extra for accepting paypal is not allowed, but if that fact is hidden until the auction is over, is THAT allowed? Just makes me mad considering I have money in my paypal account!

I'm sure Paypal wouldn't be thrilled about that either. I don't believe this is even legal. It isn't with any other credit card company. Out of curiousity, how much extra is this Seller trying to weasel out of you? Why don't you invite him to come on in?

I don't know how much. I just got the end of auction e-mail and they say that they will accept paypal for a "small fee". Nothing was stated in the auction except that they do take paypal. I don't appriciate someone doing that. If they are going to charge, I'd like knowing when I place my bid. (esp. since what they are doing is not allowed). They have a good deal of feedback, too, and only one negative. Its not like they don't know what they are doing on ebay.

I agree with the others. This is not Kosher. It's against eBay, credit card companies, and moral law.
I REALLY LIKE WHAT HAS BEEN POSTED HERE LATELY REGARDING THIS SUBJECT. SEND THE SELLER THE AMOUNT FOR BID PRICE, PLUS S/H/I IN ONE PAYMENT. SEND THEM THE ADDITIONAL "FEE" IN A SECOND PAYMENT. THEY WILL GET DOUBLE CHARGED BY PAYPAL...

Jenndiggy,
Email the Seller and ask them how much they are going to charge you if you opt to use Paypal. I would also ask why this hidden fee was not mentioned in their TOS.
MTown-You are so,so, so bad! (I love it)
