Hello everyone, I'm a new member to eBay Auctions. I just have a simple question about bid retraction. What is the most serious thing that can happen to me if I retract too many bids? Thanks for any help.

Sellers who notice a retraction pattern when looking at your feedback may opt to cancel your bid rather than waiting to see if you will retract it. Sellers generally get more than a little P O'd about retracting.

I usually send Bubba, Big Bob, Quido, and "Jimmy the Fish" to your house to beat you with a variety of wet trout.

Excessive retractions can get you kicked off eBay. They've never said just how many is considered excessive, but you probably don't want to find out.

Gee Pocono I hope they are common trout and not endangered Salmon...Is that the guy who throws the fish across the counter at the downtown seattle fishmarket? I did see one get away from him one day.

I suggest you get 2 accounts. One to do your bid retractions on, and one to be able to sucessfuly bid on auctions with

Jacklin: whlie you're at it, why not get several other IDs to shill-bid on your auctions, to bid on hundreds of Playstation2s and never pay for them, or to make PayPal scams?

ed123 - I am IMPRESSED. I just never seem to be able to think outside the box like that. It is just stunning, and all these others seize on the concept and run with it. Just goes to show why we are all here. I have never ever retracted a bid. I guess I just never changed my mind and found I did not want something after all. What is wrong with me?

I have been a student of the great Pocono for the last 2 nights. He has groomed me well in the fine art of making a satirical yet cunning and relavant comment. That being said, it's new years and time to go play with the gf, so happy new years all

I have seen bidders who, I assume for fun, bids on a particular item up to sometimes 200 dollars, then retracts saying "already have it" and then bids on another sellers auction, of the same item, bids up to 200, then retracts once again for the same reason.
I think if enough sellers complain, they can get kicked out,for this bidder was doing that, he had a high feedback number, but kept doing this, and is now "no longer a registered user". So my advice is, dont do it too frequently, and consistantly.
