Just thought I would toss this out here, in case someone comes up with something that I haven't thought of. I purchased an item from overseas that turned out to be repaired. The seller, very graciously, accepted the return, was very apologetic, and said that he would refund me via Bidpay. I registered with them. They sent me a confirmation of my registration, as well as a numbered confirmation of my payment, on Nov. 23rd, via a money order from Western Union. The money order has not arrived, it has not been cashed, and I cannot contact Bidpay. I filled out the form on their website (the only apparent means of contacting them), sent them various e mails to the return addresses on the two e mails that I received from them at registration, and to no avail. I tried calling the NYC area code number on their website, but there is no way to hook up, via that menu, with a human. I e mailed the seller re. his refund not arriving, and he said he would try from his end, and he has had no luck either. Any suggestions from someone with more experience with Bidpay? Thanks.

Haven't heard but we'll be on the lookout. Just had a buyer from Japan send us payment via BidPay but haven't received the MO yet. It's still early, with the new year and the storm in the Northeast it could be a few more days than usual.

Hi Sponge;

This is Marek from BidPay. I was not able to track down your order from your message here as there were not enough details.

It was indeed very nice of your seller to refund the payment, however in order to do so they would have had to mail the money order back to us with instructions to 'cash it and issue a credit to the purchaser'.

We mail tens of thousands of payments per week and even a small fraction of returns represents quite a few money orders coming back to us for several different reasons.

Please write to: www.bidpay.com CONTACT US 'security' and mention that you were speaking with Marek - and be sure to include the order number.

Even if the money order was lost in the mail, we can still trace it and issue a credit to your card.

Thanks and sorry you had this problem, but we will get it fixed as soon as you contact us.

Marek

Wow, Marek, thanks for being here! Here are a couple of details re. the transaction. I paid the seller via a personal check. The merchandise was not as described, and the seller offered to reimburse me via BidPay..that is the money order that seems to be lost in transit, the one from the seller, who is overseas, to me. The order number is 2167177. I will pass this along to the address that you provided. Thanks again!

Dear Sponge;

Ah... I misunderstood... thought they were mailing back a payment you had sent them. Got it now...

Just checked Western Union tracking system and you are correct this money order remains uncashed. It is 'obviously' MIA and we will issue a replacement and get that out to you today.

I notice you are a registered seller and the address used was correct. Unfortunately every once in a while we get a money order that thinks it is A SOCK !!!

You will get a follow up email from our tracking department later today.

Thanks again,

Marek
