If you only list on eBay, I suggest trying AuctionAmigo by Invenna.com. Its free and I use it every day to manage my auctions. I compose Congratulations, Payment Received, Item Shipped, and Please Leave Feedback e-mails from this program. I also use it post feedback on the buyer.
It is capable of much more, but I find that the above features are enough for me.
What are you looking to automate in the process?

Paul uses Auction Assistant Pro. Even though that particular one isn't free, regular Auction Assistant is.
He's been very happy with it and has used it for over a year.

I'm using a 30-day free trial of auctiontrakker. So far I love it! Although I use AuctionPoster to post my auctions, I use Auctiontrakker for the rest - all correspondence to my customers, and it keeps great track of my auctions. Even makes a "cha-ching" sound every time I get a new bid!

I've seen this question asked before and I don't get it. Why do we need a software that does what auctionwatch does? I'm not being smart, I really want to know! Because if there is something easier please tell me!! I'm fast approaching powerseller status myself and anything to make all this stuff easier would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks,
Tammy

Tammy:
AuctionWatch's Auction Manager is a web-based auction management system. Web-based systems like AW's (Andale, AuctionWorks, AuctionFlow, GoTo, and ManageAuctions are also in this category, among others) do most everything a software management program can do- some can do much more than software solutions because they can include pic hosting, integrated storefronts, and integrated web-based checkouts. Some offer integrated payment options using credit card at additional cost.
There are pros and cons to each type of system. With the software solutions (like those mentioned above), you retain full control over all your auction information because it's on your computer. With web-based systems, if they are down, you can be out of luck.
While some of the web-based systems are currently free, they will likely start charging for their service in the future. Not so with the software solutions where you pay only once (if at all).
OAUA just completed a comparitive evaluation of the web-based auction management solutions, and it should be out shortly. We'll be evaluating the home-based software systems in the coming months.

I currently use AuctionWorks and have had no problems. They have a storefront and easy to use management software.

Does anyone know of auction posting software that allows you to build auctions off of a spreadsheet or .csv?
Thanks!

The AuctionManager Pro download by AuctionWatch allows you to import data from CSV, spreadsheets, Access Database, or any ODBC compliant application. I store my inventory in a Access database and import them through this feature.

Well, if you're looking for s/w which deals with with customer service and marketing, then you may want to check out mybiz (www.mybiz.com).
Also, i have a pretty good chart which compares different features of auction management tools. If you'd like a copy of it, let me know and I'll try to find it.

Hmmm, me smells a shill poster raisinbrandon...
How about posting a URL to that comparison, I'd be interested, just be sure not to be too obvious by posting it on your mybiz site.
I'm not sure but I think you can click on my name here on the message board to get my email and you can email it to me too if you want.

I like ebud ~ but it is not free ~ now a dumb question from me ~ how do you qualify to be a "power seller" ~ and just what does that mean other than the logo on your auctions?

It means you have to sell a certain dollar figure each month.I am not exactly sure the amount but I think it is in the $1,000.00 to $1500.00 range? You should be able to get the details at the eBay site.

Hi franko122
Sorry , forgot to mention that I have a relationship with mybiz. I clicked on your name but there was no email address. Can you either email me at [email protected] or post your email address so I can contact you and forward you the chart of the major auction management tools.
