Do any of you use Achex for accepting personal checks? If so, can you tell me whether it has been a good experience or not?
I don't really want to accept checks, but if this service can allow the buyers to use a check, and I get my payment quickly, and it is FREE (okay, for now anyway) then it might be an option. But, I don't want to waste my time if this company is as boneheaded as some of the other companies we are dealing with.

When it came time to check out, I noticed they accept Achex for payment. I doubt that gives Achex credibility, but one of the "big guys" is using them.

I've only had 2 transactions with Achex and both of them went through just fine. No problems. Achex emails you and lets you know when the checks clear, so you know when to ship the item. I actually wish more people would use them!

Achex and Moneyzap are the two best services for transactions within the US. Bidpay is the best for international. For ratings of payment services Read this

Achex has become my favorite electronic payment method, among the 5 I accept!
Two days start to finish, and besides FREE, it's fast, and excellent communication from the vendor. Straight from the buyers checking account into mine, with only one step in accepting it.

Achex is by far the fastest payment service in terms of getting the money into my bank account. I have had several transactions paid for by Achex and the money shows up in my checking account as available funds within 4 to 6 hours. The only thing I can figure is that I must use the same bank as Achex.
Now if I can only convince more of my customers to use the service. None of my customers have used Achex for months now even though I prominantly diplay the Achex icon in my auction ads...
My auction payments are still running about 70% Paypal, 10% Billpoint, 19% Check/Money Order, 1% All the other payment services. (Including Achex, Pay Direct, BidPay, MoneyZap, Exchange Path, etc.)

Just before Christmas I signed up with ACHEX because they promised a $10 rebate. I received an email several weeks ago stating they were going to send the rebate, but it has never arrived. ):

cassiescloset: Are you sure it was Achex and not one of the other services like Ecount? I have been using Achex for months and have never seen any reference to a rebate. Ecount did have a $10 rebate which they never paid me or any of the customers I referred to them.
