Hi!
I've been away from the boards for a while and just wanted to see how everyone feels about this. I usually list with the Buy it Now feature. I've been noticing that, since the holidays, lots of bidders are putting in a bid and the item is going higher in many cases. There are still a few buy it nows but it seems that many people like the thrill of the bid. I'm just wondering if anyone else is noticing this or if anyone else is even using Buy it Now. I see fewer and fewer Buy it Now auctions and am thinking that maybe it was just a holiday thing.
Thanks!

I had 4 BIN's over the weekend. There have been times when the biddings gone higher, but I'm happy with the BIN price - which I set 2X the starting price....
I don't use it for all items, just certainly ones, but I'll probably discontinue it once fees are put on it... I get BIN's in spurts..

I have found that the Buy It Now feature is very attractive to people if the price is fair. I get stuff to really move if the buy price is just slightly higher than the opening bid.

I mainly use Buy It Now for my repeat items as they already went once around the block without a bid. It has been successful in that sense. As far as putting up "new" (have not listed item before) I stick to the traditional way as you never know what you'll get for it.

I've had two BIN's.... Out of about 30. So, for the most part, people are bidding rather than buying.
For books and CDs, I've been using Half.com and having great success. Buyers seem to have a mindset that eBay is for bidding, while Half.com is for "buy it now"....

As long as ebay keeps BN free (and that won't last much longer) we'll use it. But haven't had any takers yet.
