I have seen a lot of mention in several threads lately about USPS picking up items at home and online postage services.
I was hoping that some of you wonderful AW sellers could help me out. What is the best way, or service, to use when doing your postage at home? Once that is figured out, how much does it cost for USPS to pick up packages (I think it's $8 if I'm not mistaken)?
I am obviously looking for the cheapest, most reliable system. After pouring through a bunch of websites, postage meters, etc. I'm kinda confused!
I would love to hear from any of you who have figured this process out - relatively cheap.
Thanks in advance for all of your great advice.

Don't take this as law. I talked to the postmaster at my post office because I was under the impression that when you do your own postage on-line you become a sort of agent with the USPS, and that they had to pick up. He told me that priority mail over 1 pound had to be brought in, and I think there was a five pound limit on what they would pick up. I'm sure there's people out here who know the regs to say if that's true or not. He did however tell me that if I use the online postage I could bypass the lines and bring my packages directly to the loading dock. I guess that in itself is a time saver.
