Haven't had this happen before. I know the rules say respond within 3 days but I just don't want to jump the gun in case this person has a problem. Auction ended 6 days ago, I've written 3 emails asking for confirmation with no answer. Buyer has (0) feedback and shades. This buyer has been high bidder on 2 other auctions per bidder search within a few days of each other. One of which was a substantial amount of money. Am I getting a little nervous a little too soon??? What would you do?

The last time this happened to me, I sent one final e-mail and requested a return receipt (or read receipt) so I would know the person had read my message. They paid promptly after that.

If that doesn't work for you, then the next step is to file the NPB alert. If they still don't pay after 10 days from receiving the nudge from Ebay, then file for your FVF and relist the item.

One thing to always think about first is email trouble... servers go down for days at a time and the winning bidder may have problems sending and/or receiving messages.

I've read posts here on AW to try contacting the winner through the "email this auction to a friend" option on the actual auction page. Some folks were successful with this.

Also, before you NPB, request their contact information and give them a call.

It's always good to give your customers the benefit of the doubt -- you really never know.

My whole apartment complex lost internet capability for 4 days. I had the flu and couldn't get out to email high bidders.

Thank god my bidders were understanding. You just never know what's going to happen.

The phone company thinks and animal got into the main box and made a mess.

One more question Please...Misscandle..I am so new at this stuff that I don't know what a read receipt is. Never heard of it. Sounds like a good tool to know about. Where can I find out more?

I use Outlook Express for my e-mail. I go to "New Mail" then "Tools" then "Request Read Receipt".

Depending upon the recipient's preferences, they can decline to have a read receipt sent back to you. But, it is worth a try while you are still in the "nice" phase of this transaction.

I do hope it works out for you. It could just be a new person who is not yet aware of what is expected. Good luck.

Try certified mail. It tells you when he/she reads the mail. My favorite way to get a bidder's attention.
