That comes to about 2.5% of eBays total listings, I think thats a good ratio of rare items. I see nothing wrong with that.

How about OOP for "Out Of Print"??
I see this one all the time on CDs, yet all you have to do is scoot over to Amazon or CDnow to see that the CD is, in fact, NOT out of print at all.
The reason the sellers keep saying "OOP!" is that the bidders keep believing it. They'll bid up the auction item to double and triple what they could pay for it in a retail store. Some people are just lazy... Or gullible... Probably both.

Rare....to me equals, no bid from me. Scarce...to me equals, no bid from me. If it is so rare or scarce, why are you selling it for $1.00?
How about two new catagories Rare and Scarce? Any auction using the word is sent there!

Just remember that number includes the CCG categories where the word rare is a description of the occurance of the card in a game. If you buy a booster pack of the Star Trek CCG, you get 1 rare, 3 uncommons, and 7 commons. There are also the occasional ultra-rares and super-rares that are used as promos by the publishers. I just got almost 3100 listings from the card games category, and it doesn't include either the Pokemon or Dragonball Z card games.
