Hi - I could use some advice from those who sell clothing, I don't generally do so other than stuff my kids have outgrown.
I came across some great deals (90% off) on some really nice designer clothes today and picked some up for resale. They are fall/winter/holiday styles. My question is - should I list these right away, or hold on to them until next fall when they will again be in season? Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks!

If it's real high end...I'd list it now. Those shoppers tend to be very aware of what is "past season" - and aware that it will appear in mfg's outlet stores and off price stores...lessening the value. I'm not an expert, but my .02!

Thanks for the reply. Good point about the outlet stores, I think I will try to get these listed right away. Do you think it's too early to start listing spring/summer items also?
Thanks!

Tootsiepop -
My girlfriend sells high end clothing on ebay and she is currently selling spring/summer stuff. She puts the fall/winter stuff that either didn't sell or she is currently picking up at a deep discount price.
She has been doing this for about a 2 years now and has been doing VERY well.
I sell children's items including clothing and I too have moved away from fall/winter stuff and into spring/summer items.
I would hold the fall stuff until the middle of August and winter stuff around October - that is when people are starting to build their new season wardrobe.

I would wait...
At the end of summer last year, I bought several swimsuits at a deep discount.
Sold two of them right off the bat, and made maybe $3-$5 on each one. Tried to sell a third and it didn't even get one bid!
Put them back (actually forgot about them! LOL) and just pulled them out last week. Put two up for auction already and made around $20-$25 on each one.
Trying to find the other three I have stowed away somewhere (we moved over the past year, so I have things still in boxes! LOL) and get them sold fast...

Thanks for the replies, I appreciate the input. I think what I may do is hold onto the heavier items, velvet, wool etc.. for later, and try to sell the more seasonless items now.
Thanks!

Are any of the items dressy enough for weddings, holidays? In some areas, it is still cold during Easter/Passover. Coming from Florida, I constantly have to remind myself that most of you aren't wearing shorts while you do this! JMO.

Two words: CRUISE SEASON.
If you have high-end (or not-so-high-end) women's clothing that is appropriate for a cruise, including formalwear for dress-up dinners, this is a great time to put it up. Dressy clothing is frequently not season-specific (i.e., doesn't look or feel like "winter" or "summer", so it sells very well whenever fancy occasions may arise.
If the stuff is definitely off-season and not appropriate for a cruise, I would probably wait and list it at the right time.
