I am Bidder and Seller. Got an excellent track-record, too. On Dec 29th I won an auction and put in for a Billpoint-Invoice. No idea if I actually got it and paid. Didn’t get around to care for my emails for a couple of days. I would occsionally log on and answer what needed answering. I usually save all the Bill-Point and Pay Pal stuff to Floppy right away. Had guests and did not get around to it.
Big surprise for New Years Day: my whole mailbox was gone.
I had one auction that was really in question and right away emailed them if they had sent out an invoice and if I had paid. (just signed up for Bill-Point and did not know how to handle it)
After several emails stating my whole problem I finally got an answer. The regular book-keeper was on leave and they could not trace the transaction.
We agreed that we would wait for credit card statements and whatever. That was some time in January.
After checking all my bills and records (about a month later) I found out that I in fact did not pay. Immediately sent out another request, explaining things yet again.
Since then I have sent another request and several emails; even using different servers, anticipating problems. No answer.
It is a somewhat personal matter with me: I do not want any negative feedback.
Technically I am clearly in the wrong. My payment is long overdue. But is it really my fault when the seller cannot get his records straight? They have like 1000 feedback.
I usually keep records and know what is going on. The one time they throw me a whammy I am not covered. Figures.
