I made my first refund to a customer; however, I was unable to make it using Billpoint as the 'Refund Temporarily Unavailable' has been up for two days, so I used PayPal.

What I'm wondering is that I read about non-paying things and you can be reimbursed the fees paid to everyone, but what about having to refund someone? No applies, right?

Thanks.

I had a refund to a customer who had used Billpoint. I did not get my fee back. I emailed several times hoping to get a different answer than I received, but no such luck. I was told, however, that if I had set my TOS to indicate I would hold out the BP fees in case of a return, I could have held the fee I paid BP out of the refunded amount. But BillPoint does not refund fees.

Now about getting your FVF back from eBay. Yes you can, even on a refund or partial refund. Just file for FVF refund and use refund as the reason for the request.

Thanks for your response. A screen kept coming up that implies that the person is a non-payer, first, then permitting you to complete the FVF or whatever you called it.

I'm hesitate to complete the non-paying bidder form as this doesn't apply at all. Too, I've read some posts here that say buyers can get very angry when they receive these warnings from eBay and I have no control to stop them once I have initiated that form.

I guess I just lost a sale, money, and all.

Again, appreciate your response here.

You do need to fill out the non paying bidder form. Just be sure to choose the reason that the bidder returned the item and you issued a refund. It does NOT go on their record, but they WILL get a letter confirming that they decided not to purchase the item.

Just send them a friendly e-mail advising them of what you are doing, and assuring them that it does not go on their record, and all will be fine.

When you choose that option, you get your credit immediately. Be sure to enter 0 in the place where they ask how much you received from the bidder, since you refunded the money.
