Seems there is a serious software glitch, or their system is metamorphosing into an auction editor.

Just got done listing some auctions and for some reason ebay the computer changed the auction description. This happened after item was submitted, yes it was fine on the preview. Took a look at the auction is was a jumbled mess. Put my glasses on to make sure I was not seeing things. Naw ebay the computer is having fun with my html. Can major problems be far away.

This seems to have been going on for a while. No item descriptions in listings, changed item descriptions incomplete or jumbled.

I wonder how long this has been going on. I got a email last week from a lady who told me there was no description in my auction. I brushed it off now I really wonder whats going on here

Hi Mike ~

I'm having the SAME problems today! I use Eposter to list my auctions and all of a sudden they are a mess! I can't list - if I do, they are all screwed up - no descriptions, no pics... I thought it was an Eposter problem but I guess it's an Ebay problem! Just what we need....

I heard that eBay purchased "HAL" the computer on Yahoo for some Bayou Billy Bucks.

I use AuctionAmigo and I thought I was going nuts!

No description, No picture!

I've given up for the day!

I wonder if eBay will say anything, if at all, to my three emails?

ARRGH!

I use AWPRO and had the same thing happen to 2 out of 17 auctions, no error messages. I only noticed when I looked at 'my auction gallery' there were no pictures I had to cancel them and resubmit.

It's Just one more of eBay's Many Attempts at making our lives so much easier....YEA RIGHT!!! When Pigs Fly!....I use Blackthorne Software for eBay and have for almost 3 years, and it did some funky things while trying to list today, things that I have never seen happen on eBay up till today, At 1st I just thought it was the All Powerful and Buggy Internet Exployer Browser, but no It did the same thing with Netscape...so I tried a manual listing Without the Blackthorne Software and Yes It was still acting strange...So It's eBay (what else is new, they just can't leave well enough alone) But thats just my 2 cents worth.

I saw recently, in some obscure eBay post (somewhere) that from now on, ALL html MUST BE CLOSED!

IE: <p> has to have a corresponding </p> and <br> a corresponding </br>

I think! It was pretty unclear! But the gist was YOU MUST CLOSE ALL YOUR TAGS!

I always close my tags!

I don't think that's the issue here...

The only common denominator so far appears to be eBay!

I've already warned several friends to wait and try launching tomorrow...

PHOOEY! :-p

It's a little deeper than that.

Must be "HAL" though Bayou Billie could be responsible.

Or is it the dreaded cache and cookie monster.

I just found an auction that I reviewed from Mr Lister that was fine. Now it has NO description. I went into Revise auction and found only the first 2 lines of the HTML. The tags were closed so the code didn't appear on the auction page. I know I saw the complete page and the description was there when I submitted the auction. This is very wierd.

I have posted a dozen auctions tonight and have had these problems with most of them. In addition, after doing a revision on things that had disappeared or scrambled, they were ok for a while, then messed up AGAIN! On top of that...I have only received ONE listing confirmation e-mail for TWELVE auctions. What IS GOING ON?????

It's been like this for most of the day. I'm sure ebay is aware of this - but of course, there is no mention of the problem on the announcement board!

I had the same problem and e-mailed my Voices e-mail group about it. I don't use an auction program but I do have HTML in my description (tags closed, thank you!)

The description -- photos, HTML and all -- would be duplicated on the preview page, down where the Billpoint info would have been. The first try I didn't understand why it was doing that and submitted my auction, only to see ALL of my description disapper, and the Billpoint logo inserted (and I NEVER check that box, asking for the logo to be put at the bottom of my auctions). Tried rebooting etc and same problems, so am not listing any more right now and have heard nothing back from eBay.

This is CRAZY! I re-listed 4 auctions, and all four have perfect pictures and not one line of description.

Just photos, then (of course) the Billpoint logo and the bid form.

Am I going to have to cancel these and try again later? Anyone think Ebay will actually claim responsibility and refund the listing and features fees?

I use Auction Manager here at AW.

Well, I just realized that one of the auctions, I Re-listed directly from Ebay.

I've gone into revise, and all that's left in the description box is: "<p><center><img src="

Nice...

I launched and ended one auction when I found that my description and picture didn't show. I manually went to eBay and launched 2 that way and will wait till tomorrow when it's hopefully fixed. That's a pain doing it without AW I'm spoiled I think!

Hello Everyone,

If you are having issues relating to AuctionWatch.com Services, please post in the Services forum for assistance from Customer Care.

I know Ebay was having problems, not sure if they still are, but CS will know.

Good luck everyone,

I normally don't use AW to list my auctions. I had thought it was an AW issue when 2 of my 9 auctions were launched incomplete. This was on the 23rd.
In Netscape I couldn't see the descript or lower down the page. With IE I saw the descript was incomplete. I'm not knowledged in much html so I just copied and pasted the end tags from an auction that launched complete. Now I have 3 auctions using one counter!

Hello,

Top of the announcement board at ebay tells about the problem and when they fixed it. Something about code changes and auctions with " " in them caused description and pictures to not be inserted.

They say its all fixed now.
