It was sugested on another thread that I "should have asked the sellerbeing blind-sided by a seller's insistence that I go to a web-based auction management site and hand over personal info, and their asking for $extra to cover PayPal fees.

OK ... I am creating a "universal buyer question" form letter to send to the sellers of all auctions I am interested in.

1. Do you ship in used pizza boxes?
2. Do you have any undisclosed costs that will only appear in your email?
3. Will I be expected to do your data entry for you into a web-based auction management site with dubious privacy policies?

Yadda, yadda .........

187. Do you use strong-scented packing materials in an attempt to cover up unpleasant odors in your products?

Anybody have any suggestions?

How about:

"Will you change your terms to my detriment after the auction ends?"

"Will you actually send my item after I pay you?"

In referenece to question. #1 (Do you ship in used pizza boxes?), you have to ask them exactly how much of the pizza will they remove before shipping.

1. What is the TOTAL amount you will charge to get the item to me in addition to the bid price?

2. Which carrier do you use?
a. If using USPS, do you ship priority, first class or standard?

3. Does shipping include insurance or do I need to pay extra

4. Do you ship daily or only on certain days?

5. Has the item been around smoke of any kind?

The number one question is....drum roll please....

Will I get the item described in good condition and in a timely manner?

Everything else is irrelevant...except for what toppings are used on that pizza...

Does "mint condition" mean that the watch actually WORKS????

Does "mint condition" mean that the watch actually WORKS????

IMHO, the watch will be sticky, partially melted, stuck to the wrapping, and have little pieces of unidentified schmutz attached to it.

mint condition is strictly in the eye of the beholder.

You should see the condition of some mints in my purse.

Are you now or have you ever been a communist?

sorry, couldn't resist.

Do you, if fact, have any idea how to pack my item for shipping so it at least has a fighting chance of reaching me undamaged?

Are you actually going to buy the insurance you required me to pay for or are you just going to pocket the money?
