Geez moderators. Lighten up.
You don't seem to mind when others get ripped here on AW.
When it hits close to home you ABUSE your POWER and lock the threads.
I beleive we have every right to post in EO because Ebayers are the MEAT of AW users.
LET US TALK!!!!

It's rather easy to avoid thread locking. The AW fee announcement is being limited to 1 thread only in the EO only because it's a forum dedicated to eBay, not AW. Feel free to expand your threads in an appropriate AW services related forum.

Why should it be LIMITED TO ONE THREAD??
Because you can?
People have different questions.
Each of those questions deserve a thread of their own.
If you limit it to one thread it's going to get very complicated and will likely go off topic.
If it goes "off topic" will you lock it up too?

Here's a great section of the message center, it's called AuctionWatch.com Services:
http://www.auctionwatch.com/mesg/list.html?num=36
It's for the discussion of AuctionWatch.com services, and not for eBay. Start an eBay thread there and they'll send you here.
Because this is an important issue we'll allow one thread here, but we will not allow it to dominate the EO.
This forum is for the discussion of eBay.

Mark

Most people dont read any of those other forums. Sending us there is as good as sending these threads to the void.
What I'd suggest as a good compromise would be to rename your announement thread in the EO to something like: "Announcement of new fees for AW Services."
Locking all threads to that one, and then the title doesn't even describe what it is doesn't do much good.
I've been coming here from day 1 and this forumn has never been about just eBay. If you strictly applied these rules like you are now to every other thread this forumn would be dead.
Really I consider this to be your "general" forumn since you dont have such a forum and since this forum has the most posts it's where everyone goes.

I've renamed the thread on your suggestion but we will continue to enforce the one thread rule in the EO. Contrary to your belief we do step in on other topics when they dominate an unrelated forum.
Thanks for the suggestion.

This is BALONEY. You allow dozens and dozens and dozens of threads bashing eBud and other auction management software, Paypal, Billpoint, etc. etc. etc.
I cannot believe the hypocrisy. Or maybe I can.

Please see my post on the AMPro board. When I do the math on my 400 listings per week, this new deal will cost
me $90/month. I can buy any number of standalone programs for less than one month of fees.
I have been with AW since the beginning. I really like the image hosting. But frankly, the servers aren't too reliable
(lots of downtime on critical weekends) and the post sale services are not up to the competition. I bought a
separate program to handle post sale because AW simply did not have a better alternative. I just tried the new
"Express" and it is an improvement but still not suitable for a volume operation.
I would agree to a REASONABLE SUBSCRIPTION FEE for the listing service but there is no way I will accept a
per listing fee. The "final value fee" is a joke in the poorest of taste. What has AW done to earn participation in
our profits? AW is a listing service for crying out loud!!!!! Ebay runs the auctions. If you want to participate in the
sale, start an auction.

I have to agree with Joanne.
AW allows all sorts of discussion on this board.
Besides Ebay there have been DOZENS of posts running at the same time that dealt with shipping charges by the post office, problems with payment services, fees from any number of services ETC etc.
Sometimes the topics aren't even auction related.
You aren't fooling anybody.
You are taking the action you are taking because YOU CAN not because of any rule.
You would do better to soothe people if you wouldn't lie about why you are doing it.
You insult our intelligence.
I DID mention Ebay so I guess that makes this thread OK.

There have been SEVERAL posts today about the Earthquake in WA.
I haven't seen them locked up.
If this is the EBAY BOARD, earthquakes would seem off topic.

If you sell on ebay, shouldn't you be allowed to post on the ebay outlook? Why go to another forum? Ebay users should stick together.
