Insisting that Ebay users take their thread to another forum is ludicrous and makes no sense. It's like insisting a couple of people leave a party if they want to discuss a certain subject.
The FACT IS, all of us Ebay users like dealing with each other on various Ebay and auction related service matters. WHY should we have to abandon the majority of other Ebay users to go off to some netherland forum that AW mistakenly feels is more appropriate.
The users of this site are responsible for it's continued existance---NOT the moderators.
If you remove the moderators, you STILL have AW.
HOWEVER, if you remove the users, guess what?

Capriole, I'm still in favor of charging fees to cover your costs. I don't however like percentage fees. 40% can only be chopped up so many ways. I don't need AW for image hosting or domains. I own a web hosting service and a domain registration service so my domains cost me $10. What attracted me to outside auction services is backend management. I was semi-happy with Auction Assitant Pro until Ebay bought them and they will be charging a monthly subscription fee.
I do my own html but AAP doesn't give me the level of control over the html. Backend wise it's great. Never actually got started with AW, was planning to do this weekend for some tests but have no idea what type of backend accounting work it does. Support emails are rarely answered in a timely manner if at all.

I am think that many people only use AW for the forum. It is a great forum. I have never really used any of their services other than the post auction manager.

Ditto trey...
Time for some folks to learn HTML...if you can't learn it, spend the money to have someone else (AW, ad infintum) do it for you.

I too was once a blackthorne user. I switched to AW when AAP started charging also. I just listed my first auction with them and was very happy! I like the control panel that allows me to see the number of hits on each auction (I can't seem to find that anyother way) I had a question about pending auctions and got more than enough help from a AW Monitor...glad someone was listening!
I also have my own domain name and web-hosting, but I still like AW features. I think I am going to continue to use them, but will most likely just go through Ebay for certain items. I do not like the percentage I would be paying for a high ticket item...but for the small stuff the cost will be equal to most of the competition out there.
I will cut down on listing in two areas (that will save 50%) and not use the gallery everytime..but there is always the AW storefront!
