Hi there cdnbooks!
I just recently started using the AW bulk upload software. I figure it cuts my time involved in launching an average auction by about 10 minutes each one, as opposed to doing the entire thing manually through the eBay seller page, then going back & uploading extra photos after, etc.
Well, last month I launched 250 auctions total. That's 40 hours per month that I would now have to do other things, such as hunting down more & better things to sell, just R&R, or whatever. What's the price on time savings like that? Pretty significant to me, though of course AW is obviously not the only player in this field.
Does using AW make more money for me on eBay? No, I simply don't believe that. What makes money for me on eBay is a sharp sense of what will sell, years of experience, hard slogging, buying smartly, and lots of luck. The only things I really see as benefits from AW on eBay, are the ease & time savings (and I have not yet utilized all of their seller features to help me automate those areas I could), and sure, I think my auctions "look" nice, without being too flashy.

I think AW's strength was in the way it made it so simple to launch auctions at any pre-arranged time. That is one thing that used to bug me before I found AW. I had to be home to launch. I will miss that.
I do feel it increased my sales, in that it enabled me to become better organized by having all my auction info in one place.
But I suppose MyEbay will work nearly as well, although I will have to be more careful about my launch times again, and the picture hosting is krappy. Sigh....
well they gotta make money somehow, can't be mad at them, but I don't have to give them my money either.

Interesting. This thread has been here for 12 hours with just 2 relies. Surely AW is more help to an eBay seller than that?

IMO, AW can hurt your eBay sales, too!
How many sellers have been burned by eBay crashes in the last few hours of auction close? are those down times due to the massive amounts of auctions closing at a particular time?
hmmm.....

When I was a newbie to selling, the picture hosting was the easiest around, and I had noticed as a buyer that people who used AW pic hosting had pretty fast loading times for their pics at the auction site. So that helped me get started in the first place.
For a few months, I used Auction Manager to launch auctions. Ultimately, I found it time consuming and cumbersome. I've never tried AMPro.
Hope the hosting stays free! But if not, I'll learn to host my pics with my ISP.

Hi, people--I'm still such a novice with all this stuff, although I've been selling for three months now.
Are you saying that I could use eBay to launch my auctions but continue to have AW host my images? I like AW's image hosting!!
If that's true, can you describe (sloooowly for this sloooow lady) how that could be done? I haven't launched through eBay yet, so am not familiar with their methods. A quick run-through last night wasn't much help, either.

As many on here have said, AW offers services that can also be found for free on other sites, or you can easily do for yourself.
The reason, in my opinion, that AW sellers do better with their auctions is simple. If a seller comes to the AW site, even if new, that seller is serious about learning this business and spending time to learn. The experienced sellers here are very kind and knowledgeable and there's lots to be learned here, whether you're new, or an old pro. So, with that attitude, and with other sellers' help and advice, naturally AW auctioneers do better! It's not the tools.
