OK, AW, you've seen the HUNDREDS, if not THOUSANDS, of angry emails in one night over your decision to take 1% of our money on top of your new flat listing fee. WHY has no one addressed this?! I've read every board and it's obvious this isn't exactly a popular move. But not a peep from anyone at AW about MAYBE reconsidering it. How about it? Do you think we're all bluffing about leaving, or that maybe we'll just get used to it? Admit you blew it and change the fee structure before March 14, or at least address this barrage of messages! What are you afraid of?

Could it be that the PTB at AW knew full well that the members wouldn't stand for a FVF on sales? Perhaps they only tacked that on to give us something to gripe about, and make the 5 cent per picture charge seem ok? So, it leaves them room to back down from the % fee, and get what they wanted all along, a per picture charge.
Nah, they wouldn't do that, would they?
You can have 5 cents per image, but you can't have a cut of my sales.

I think meya is on to something. They'll dump the FVF and make us all feel so grateful to be paying the flat fee and per-listing charge. But seriously, I just want to know WHY they feel they are entitled to a percentage of my wins? I agree that Ebay is entitled to a percentage of my wins because they are the auction house, but where does AW come off thinking THEY are?

They think we are bluffing. They think we will get used to this after we bellyache for a while. They also need the money so they have to take the chance. I know that most of us can live without them taking the 1 percent. I must go. I am learning I can live without AW. Launched auctions myself last night and I am proud of myself for learning. AW does need to respond. If they have moderartors out the wazoo that spend time locking threads...they can also use them for useful things such as passing along any..information from the higher ups.

Even if they only keep 20% of the AW people here now, on the 15th it'll be more money than they had on the 13th.
Still getting free ads on the auctions run by those 20% who stay, less load on their servers, the abilty to stifle any negative feedback on his chatboards, and EBAYs wonderful examples of how to keep money that doesn't belong to you by making credits a challenge, Mark's probably saying, "Don't let the door hit you" to the those of us who leave.
I'm just sorry that I've been telling others to come here. Had I know that Mark was taking managerial lessons from X-Com & PayPal, I'd have been more ready to move with this short notice.
As it is, I'm really going to have to scramble to get up to speed on how to host pictures somewhere else. I never used his templates or the post auction stuff, just timed launches & picture hosting.
I'll miss the timed launches, but I'll spread my auctions over 3 days instead of all on one day.
It's 5:30am PST - despite what some may think, the executive and administrative staff are entitled to a little sleep too.
If they have moderartors out the wazoo that spend time locking threads...they can also use them for useful things such as passing along any..information from the higher ups.
That's a fine expectation if you are working under the assumption that the Moderation staff are privy to information regarding executive decisions. We aren't.
Administration need time to read and digest the correspondence/posts made regarding this Announcement and will respond accordingly if and/or when they have further information or comments for the Community.
As Mark has requested that your questions either be confined to the original announcement thread or to the Services Forum, your cooperation would be appreciated. I am locking this thread.
