Only been selling since APRIL, 2000!
Yikes! Things sure have changed drastically in that short time!
Is the FUN gone FOREVER?... like HCQ?
BTW: AW USED to have a SENSE OF HUMOR!
Seems we is a bit self-defensive over the past 24 hours, ain't we?

Well I've been at it for 3.5 years and you wouldn't believe the changes!! The high spots are few and far between these days. And.........everyone wants a piece of my meager profits.
Sense of humor--yeah right--just like a rattlesnake.
BTW what ever did happen to HCQ?

Tom - I also joined up last spring. Man, oh man, the rate of change...but in the same year I was reorganized/reengineered at my office job, and I got so fed up I recently quit and now I'm a SAH mom!
So my attitude is, just try to keep me down! Heck, if I need to load direct on ebay, I will. No more nickel and diming. I don't pay PayPal, I didn't pay Yahoo or goto.com, and guess who I'm not going to pay now?
But as long as there are people out there who are happy to buy my books, I'm going to do it.
In spite of it all.

Luckily this AW change will not affect me. I used AW for a while but they were just not reliable enough. Down times, uploading problems, sync errors, I finally gave up after giving them several chances. I went back to the service I began with 3 years ago and I couldn't be happier. AuctionPoster.com. They charge around $35 per year (which I can now say is measley compared to AW) and the problems are minimal. If you do have any problems they fix it immediately. I will stick with them!

Thanks for the tip on another auction launch site, ExecutiveGirl! AW will probably delete it as soon as they see it, but I added it to my "favorites" immediately upon seeing it and they can't take that away!

Thanks, ExecGirl, for suggesting another choice. Some of us aren't aware of all the choices out there. I will now check this one out as well as AAPro. I see that AP also hosts pics. hmmm....So many lovely and equitable choices!

Hi Sharkbaby! Yes, AP hosts pics - if you use their "auctiva pic hosting" it's free.. and it's awesome, because what they do is put thumbnail pics on your auctions so the auctions load real fast. You can have 30 pics on there and it will load in about 2 seconds! Then the customers click on the thumbnails to see a full sized picture. My customers love it and so do I!
BTW - I am not affiliated with AP in any way - I am just a very happy customer!

ExecGirl: Well, in the time I've been posting on these forums I trust your judgment so I'm checking further into it. It looks like it might be a more viable option than AAPro because it's all there in one place. Thanks again! Hope to find the new hangout if everyone leaves AW!

One good thing that has come out of all of this is to see how many users that have jumped forward to offer suggestions.
Within hours of the notice many good people responded with HTML tips and other sites that would work just as well or perhaps better.
I truly appreciate all the advice that has been given.

Exec .... I just looked at their fees, an I'm not sure how you came up with $35 per year?
Also, and not to knock this service or any others out there, but my guess is *nothing* will be free for much longer. Their thumbnail pics will no doubt have a price tag attached to them in the very near future.

RedDeer: I just renewed for another year of Auctionposter (now called Eposter) and it cost me $35. They have different picture hosting plans. Some of them DO charge - but if you use their Auctiva Fastpix the pic hosting is free.

Exec ..... Ok, I must have missed the Eposter price?
As far as the FREE pix, I saw that, my only point was that I imagine in the near future, *nothing* will be free.

There is no ePoster price. From their website:
Looking for eBud or ePoster?
These programs are now Auctiva PowerTools and are part of Auctiva Pro.

Since I never used ePoster, I can't say for sure, but I would guess that EG paid for it prior to the pricing change, which was only made a couple (?) of weeks ago. I have been using eBud (not for much longer, though), and it got caught up in the same "upgrade".

Until we become more organized, and a concerted effort is made to STOP all these sites from goughing us to death, Guess what? It won't stop. I have been with Ebay for 3 years, and AW for almost the same amount of time. I have seen lots of changes. At first they seem to be subtle, and then they drop the other bomb on ya! Too many users are willing to turn their head, and refuse to see what is going on until it is to late. Ebay gets away with it, and so the others think they can do the same. For those of us who sell low end items, we can't afford this change, plain and simple. We will have to do the same as AW is doing. Make a list of the pros and cons of what you need to continue to sell on auction. To me the first thing to go would be all the fancy things, I can do for myself. Who really needs a storefront? Who really needs after auction management tools? etc; Sure I liked them, but when push comes to shove, I can go back to writing my own text, and saving it in word, templates come with most pic software, and most of the auctions have some kind of image hosting for their own site. Ebay does, and so does Epier. At epier they have bulk uploading, pic hosting, and preferences for your repeat text. No after management tools, but here again, you can write your repeat congratulatory emails, put them in word, and them just personalize it for each auction. You can also have your pics stored on your ISP, and I use bay-town, which is free for me. They also have a web hosting service, and templates etc; for a very low yearly cost. Much lower then what AW wants. The FVF is the most offensive part of this, What if we have a NPB, is AW going to refund our FVF, like Ebay does?? Just call me OUTTA HERE!!! It was fun while it lasted, and I really loved AW, but I can't afford champagne, on a beer budget. Good Luck to everyone!!!

[b]tomwiii:[b] I know what you mean
ExecutiveGirl is RIGHT!!!!
I have been using ePoster for 2 years!
They are very nice people!
They answer questions & they work hard at adding new features and upgrades!!
It is soooo easy to list & save auctions with them too!
I bought a years membership for $29.95 in Nov.. I know I just beat their price increase. (I think it was $5.00 or 10.00 increase)
Reddeer & mrpotatoheadd I do not know about the recent changes that ePoster has made...but I did pay that price November and it sounds like ExecutiveGirl bought hers at the increased price.
ExecutiveGirl May I ask...when did you get your membership with ePoster? Was it Dec. or this year? ~Thanks~

Well, I just went to that AuctionPoster site and when I clicked on Pricing I was sent to Auctiva and a price of $119 per year! I never did find that $35.00 per year. It said if I was "looking for ePoster, it is now Auctivi Pro".

Psalms: I just checked my account and it says it expires on 12/11/01, and that was for a 1-year pass.
I am not familiar at all with their new services or pricing plans but I am looking into it now.
According to their site, a 1-year pass will be $145 if you don't sign up before March 1st.
It's definitely still a LOT cheaper than AW.. so I will have to think about what I will do when my pass expires.

ExecutiveGirl Thank you for answering.
This is a huge increase, compared to what we just paid a few short months ago! Looks like I should have paid for 2 or more years membership back in Nov.!
Like you, I will be looking into this!
Thanks Again!

There won't be a 'piece of the pie' left for the sellers, if the price increase continues to sky rocket!
