Has anyone that was affected by the Daylight Savings Time bug in Microsoft Visual C++ received credit to their accounts? Below is from the April 2nd posting to the announcement board:

***Daylight Savings Bug Credits***

Due to a Daylight Savings Time bug in Microsoft Visual C++ code, some auctions with end dates on April 1 or April 2 were ended prematurely. Sellers whose auctions were affected will be credited with all associated fees for that auction. If your auction was affected, this credit will appear on your Account Status as an "Outage Credit" before the April 15th billing cycle. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this bug.

I had 11 auctions closed early by ebay on the 2nd and haven't received the credits to my account.

What is the correct email address for billing at ebay? It used to be [email protected], but the last time I tried to use it, it bounced as a bad address.

If you hear of ebay giving credits let me know I have a page of 200 auctions that were affected by their downtimes in April. Good Luck.

Nothing yet that I'm aware of - I'll be doubling checking my account thought - I'm still waiting for my $20 relisting snafu credit from march...

I tried sending the request for outage credit to [email protected] and it bounced. I had to search quite a bit to find the form to send in for credits. I didn't even receive a canned response to my request.

eBay never seems to do as they promise or in the time frame that they state.

As Rosalinda (rnrgroup) says...don't give up. Write them...and keep it up until they cave. They will eventually...at least, they always have. And here, they've actually admitted their culpability...

Only the auctions that were ended early by ebaY will get automatic credits (if those) ALL other credits must be requested. For info and links on how to ask for credit go to
the auctionguild.com website and click on Request Refunds on ebaY from the left hand tool bar. -Rosalinda

My 11 auctions were ended early by ebay on the 2nd, and they haven't given the automatic credits by the 15th, as stated on the announcement board.

It seems they can't be trusted.

This morning I received the response below from Vito at ebay. He didn't even include my original message in his reply. Clearly he didn't even look at the list of auctions that I submitted for outage credit. If he had, he would have seen that each auction was ended an hour early.

I sent another request and included the complete listing confirmations for each auction received from ebay showing when they were listed and when they should have ended.

If you had auctions end on April 1st or 2nd that were affected by their software bug, you should check your account to see if you received the automatic credits that they promised.

I have lost all trust in ebay when it comes to money. They have double billed my credit card 3 times in the last 2 years. In each case I requested that they correct the billing error and never received a response. I had to do a chargeback through my credit card company in all 3 instances.

Are they now trying to intimidate me by having a person named Vito respond to my credit request?

Excuse me while I go remove this knot from my panties!

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to better explain the Daylight
Savings Time credit issue. Early on the morning of 4/1, End of Auction
notices ran one hour early, causing affected listings to end one hour
early. We temporarily stopped the generation of End of Auction notices
so that this wouldn't continue happening. We researched the situation
and determined that a bug fix was required, which was implemented early
on the morning of 4/2. However, while implementing this fix, some
additional listings also ended one hour early.

We carefully evaluated all of the auctions affected by these two issues
and automatically credited all fees for these listings. Please be
assured that if your listing was affected by either of these two
situations, it did receive the credit it deserved.

Please accept our apologies for the confusion this caused, and we
appreciate your patronage.

I got the same form email from another rep today and I am infuriated.

The rep clearly did not read my email, or check my account to see I had not gotten the credits or read the other previous responses from eBay telling me I would be credited.

We carefully evaluated all of the auctions affected by these two issues

That is the most infuriating babble I have heard yet.

It appears ebay is trying to just blow this issue off with their canned responses. I'm not going to let it go. If more public exposure is necessary, that is what I will do.

I'm surprised that more ebay users haven't posted to this thread. Unless, they are unaware that they have been shafted by ebay.

There is one thing that I forgot to mention in my previous post regarding the multiple times ebay has double billed my credit card. On one ocassion, they had the nerve to re-bill my card after the bouble billing was charged back to them. It is a good thing I use Discover. There is no lengthly paper work required, just a phone call. ebay received a scolding from Discover for doing this.

I have learned the hard way to keep a very close watch on my account balance.

I have been getting the exact same (canned) responses & runaround. I've pointed out that I still have the original listing confirmations showing that my auctions were supposed to end 1 hr later than they actually did. To no avail.

Clearly eBay's management has decided that only a tiny number of auctions were affected by this bug, and they're unwilling to even look at evidence to the contrary.

If ebay would rather have a complaint in their BBB file than give the credits that they promised, then that is exactly what they will receive.

The people at the BBB will certainly have no problem understanding the listing confirmation and end of auction comparison, along with a copy of ebay's posts on the announcement board.

There was a time when ebay was upfront and honest, but that ended with the arrival of Meg what's her name.

You know, if you pay your eBay bill with a credit card, all you have to do if eBay refuses to credit your account, is charge back the amount yourself through your credit card issuer.

Finally received credit for my auctions that were ended early. You have to be persistant with ebay to get them to do as they promise.

You know who said life was fair. When my ISP goes out I don't get any rebate and when my cable goes out nothing there either. I don't understand why ebay is any different. I am sure ebay doesn't ever want to go down but again sometimes it is out of their hands
and they can't help it. Then everyone runs over here to gripe. I worked on a very large computer CT scan and when it went down it was out for awhile sometimes a couple of days. That meant no work and also no pay but what is the use to gripe. Life is to short. Everyone knew that daylight savings time was coming up and you listed anyway. Can you blame ebay for that? Does ebay take away when daylight savings ends and you have that extra hour. I guess it's time to turn in.

I wasn't critizing just saying that it is Life. I don't list on Sundays anymore because the volume is so great that I am sure it has a impact on ebay. I started auctions at different times in the past two weeks and as when I listed on Sundays I received no bids until about 3/4s of the way through the auctions and then they were good. I did that just to see if listing on other days except Sunday would be better. It is not better but it is the same so I will stay away from Sundays. Now I think you still are taking a chance on listing on the day daylight saving time begins or ends. What would you have done if the glich was in your ISP. I might not be the brightest light blub in the bunch but I have learned that the only person you can depend on is yourself and sometimes that is iffy.

Daylight savings time started on Sunday the 1st. My auctions ended the evening of Monday the 2nd, and were ended one hour early. If you don't understand the problem, please use the link that I provided above and read what ebay had to say.
