Has hell frozen over? I reported a few weeks ago how a buyer misread my post for a monitor and despite several emails back and forth where I was very clear that he was getting a private label OEM, he decided that he was getting a brand name. He then sent me an incredibly nasty email about how "my kind" was "skinning people" and so on. I sent him a refund to cover shipping and told him he could either keep it and call it even or use it to return the monitor for full refund. He chose to keep it but still sent two more nasty emails. I gave up trying to work it out because short of a full refund, there isn't a whole lot more I could do.
He just sent me an apology! It was completely unexpected. He said that now that he tried the monitor, it was really good and he was sorry for his words and he had just been taken by another seller, so he was angry, etc. etc.
I have a policy of never sending out email when I'm angry. The bad thing about email is that its tone sometimes implies unintended meaning. The good thing about it is that you have time to read and re-read it before sending it out. There were things I wanted to say to him in response to his earlier letters. I'm glad I didn't.

Since he claimed that he thought he would get a name brand monitor and it was just barely possible that my description could be read that way "Future Power OEM monitor made by a famous name brand," I told him that he could either keep the $15 or use it to return the monitor for a refund. So he decided to keep the $15 and the monitor, which was what I prefered. The apology was an unexpected bonus.
