Anyone else experience this?
Yesterday I got a feedback (positive) from a buyer and it didn't make my number go up (the one that shows by your user name). I thought well, he must have left us a feedback before, but he hasn't. The numbers on the profile page did go up by one, but not the number that shows by your username. So, even though it shows a "praise" it had the effect of a neutral.

I bet their feedback rating is below 10...
Only users with feedback of 10 or more count towards your feedback rating...

In order for a feedback to count towards your rating, the person who left is has to have a 10 or higher for it to count for you.
I will look for a reference to that on ebay...

what?
You sure? That's the dumbest thing ebay's done yet. Right on par with them converting NARU users' feedback to neutral.
Yes, his fb is less than 10.
Will I get the feedback when he gets over 10?
I don't mean to make a Federal case out of it, but I've been working on that red star for over 2 years now.

ok, maybe I am on something...I thought I read that somewhere...
Nevermind my posts, I was an idiot...
I guess I would offer this suggestion then, is the person who lef tthat feedback a repeat customer? Each person is only allowed to leave 1 feedback per user...(i.e. Joe can't leave 10 feedbacks for you, he is only allowed 1, this prevents false feedback)

potvin48,
Check your meds, never heard of that!
LC,
Well, that's a first. Your profile page shows one more than the number by your ID?
Are you SURE they aren't a former customer? I can see how your TOTAL feedback would go up for this person but if they are unique, the number by your star should be up by 1.
Keep us posted!

He probably did leave feedback in the past, but changed his user name before the second transaction.

Loosecannon....If I were a betting man, i would suggest that they have changed their user name. Perhaps they had an e-mail user name before and changed it to whatever it is now.

I checked all the Feedback Forum info at ebay that I could find and I see no mention of the phantom "must have a 10 fb rating before it counts" rule.

Yes, it must be a glitch. My numbers don't tally either. 898 by unique users minus 2 negs should be 896 but it's 895 next to my username. It's like he left a positive but the system recognized it as a neutral, or whatever.
No he hasn't left us fb before. In fact, he's only left 3 fb in his new ebay career, one being for us.
Again, I'm not trying to make a Federal case out of this. I'm just wondering.

loosecannon~~
Ebay has split up so many databases across different servers, it's probably just a matter of one server not updating as quickly as the other.
You'll probably see a jump within the next day.

I know! It's a new Feedback Block Feature. They can give you feedback but it doesn't count.
LC,
My bet is with toollady, there must be a delay.
potvin48,
I think you must be recalling the 10 feedback in association with either being able to purchase on BIN or the number you need to start selling.

Really? OK. It's always been instantaneous before.
By the way, he's not a new user at all. He registered Sept. '99, but has only amassed 5 feedbacks in all that time.

Loosecannon ........ I think Toollady is correct, and I've seen this happen in the past when eBay was tinkering with things.
BTW - My feedback totals have never been correct. Last year I asked the head of engineering what the problem was, and if he could fix it. He solved one problem, but created another. He also told me it would take close to 30 days before the next index caught up with the change on my feedback page.

I think it may be an Ebay problem, I thought I was going crazy...5 new feedbacks last night, my number stayed at 1551... I know all are not repeat customers.. I wish I could be sure..

When I started out my name and left fb for sellers and buyers it changed the #. I wasn't 10 fb yet.

It's been going on forever with the discrepancies with the feedback. It's been mentioned numerous times over the last 2 years that I can recall on the user Q&A board.
Sometimes you notice, sometimes you don't. I usually don't look at my feedback until I see the number has changed, so I don't know how long it takes to update.

Loosecannon...I think this glitch has happened before. I remember a while back (quite a while i think) where the same thing was happening...but the missing feedback number eventually came back. I know that I had the same thing happen within the last few days too.
I think it does have something to do with the different servers.
But if not...maybe I should have a shooting star and have been cheated out of it? LOL!!!
