Ok guys, ......my hat is in my hands.....despite what I said then Auction Watch made their fee anouncement.......I miss their services......a lot.........I only used them for listings and picture hosting.....have to say I am a big Ebud fan for post management (I am used to it and it works well for me........although customer service has both good days and bad)

Anyway.........I am thinking of signing up.....so for those of you who stayed.....or have already come back.........

Is it worth the price? Do you get good service? Do you have any real problems? Is customer service good?

If anybody would feel better emailing instead of posting to this board.....please do so at [email protected]

Thank you.

Well, I'm happy with it, and I do figure it was worth the price, for me. Pretty good response from moderators, have not had any glitches since signing up, and love the ease of the auction template set-up.

I guess my only complaint is that they could move faster on updating new category changes. Yeah, I know its lots of work, but big time important stuff.

I can't tell if it is worth the price yet since we have yet to see FVF on the invoices. That has taken a LONG time in my opinion.

There are a few other things I don't like, but overall I do like AW.

First of all, it's entirely appropriate to discuss Auctionwatch anywhere on the site.

Katzname...My opinion is that AW is more than worth what they charge for their services. I have encountered very few glitches that can be attributed to AW entirely. There is no such thing as a perfect service, and there will never be a 100% trouble free site when they have to depend on the stability of Ebay's hardware to operate. A lot of the users that left AW when they started charging fees have come back after trying the other services. The only thing I could suggest is to jump in and give it a try. On the standard plan, you only pay for what you use.

The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

Whenever AW had problems I did try some other services but I always returned here because I preferred their system. No matter where you go there will be things that you like and don't like and there may be downtimes.

The announcement of fees came at a very busy time in my life so I decided to stay. It is not that I can't learn other ways of doing things. I choose to stay for convenience and I have not had that many problems.

The only thing I wish is there was a monthly plan for the premium service.
This time of year a $200.00 charge would kind of set me back.

When I found out AW was going to charge me FVFs on my auctions in ebay I didn't like it so I tried signing in on two other sites. I gave up. I find it very user friendly and I don't think I could list in ebay if they weren't here. I like it when you ask a question you don't wait very long before a monitor is here. If you are being bashed by someone they are here to warn them. I just wish they would step in faster when the posters get way off topic like one that is on now. When someone wants an answer they don't want someone using the discussion board for their simple chat and boy are some simple. I think EBay and AW compliment each other. Remember this is my opinion.

Hello all,

I must say that when AW was free I enjoyed their services. I have not come back to them yet.

I am doing a combination of things to make up for the ease of use of AW. And I think it comes out cheaper in the long run.

1. AuctionAmigo ($39.95-7 weeks worth of auctions at AW, no FVF. One time pricing)
2. Free image hosting
3. Vrane-relisting ($9.95 buys you 1000 credits) One thousand relists-No FVF
4. Started my own website for some of the fixed price stuff. Now list link to that site instead of store fronts. Free there too.
5. Do the post-sale myself. Didn't use AW's and don't like getting them if I win an auction. Post-sale yourself is as easy as saving a template in drafts of OE and typing in the bid amount and shipping.

So for less that $50.00 I have independent services that would be about 9 weeks of straight listing fees to AW, not counting relists or the FVF.

Like I said earlier, I loved AW while it was free and would have gladly given AW a one time fee for the software. The FVF is what stuck me and made me look at other options.

I'm happy with the message boards.

I use FrontPage 2000 for my auction ads. ($85.00 after rebate from Sam's Club)

I use PhotoPoint for image hosting. ($9.95 per year for 1000 images)

Since my images at PhotoPoint don't get automatically deleted after a certain amount of time, I can insert the URL into my FrontPage auction ads and the images will be forever attached to the ad until the item is sold. I think that's a big plus!

I use AuctionTamer for my PSM and they now have AuctionPoster for launching auctions on eBay and BidVille. (I think it's now a one-time charge of $39.95 for the Seller Key)

I've been using a combination of Auction Poster and Mr. Lister to launch my auctions to eBay and relist directly on site when I need to (when the darn site will allow me to; every time they change that selling form I have massive trouble for a few weeks)

I find Yahoo Seller Manager to be a very good program to launch on Yahoo and it's free.

AW is a great all-inclusive service and if you want one place that does it all, it's probably the best way to go. Benefits to this I'd say are ease of use. However, the fees are continuous.

Otherwise, you have to learn new methods and new software like myself and micheneraddict have. Benefits are increased flexibility and mostly one-time charges, or at least lower ongoing charges. However, you have to make the time and effort to learn new ways of doing things and that does cause some stress.

katzname:

We've stayed with AuctionWatch... and have been extremely satisfied with their service. Right after they started charging fees, they released a major improvement for re-listing auctions. Now, you can select anywhere between 1-50 auctions from yor completed section, and schedule them to all relist at the same time. This feature EASILY saves us hours of work a week. Plus, having image hosting and counters is a great benefit as well. I'd certainly recommend the $200.00 yearly plan if you intend to sell a lot of items. And of course, their customer service is excellent! You can't beat these discussion boards either!

spakz....."My opinion is that AW is more than worth what they charge for their services"

Watch it, we don't want an increase in fees.

katzname......

I looked around and couldn't find anything else that was as easy to use for this price. I don't think I could control my auctions with as much ease without it. It is worth the fees which really amount to very little compared to what I am making on the sale.

This message board could use spell check though.

I suppose it is me, I was NEVER able to get AW's system to work without endless glitches, so have only used it a couple of times, and naturally wouldn't consider paying for a system which didn't work properly for me.

I AM looking for a posting system that will "do it on its own," as I am tired of being totally tied to the computer every night. I don't want/need a system with all the templates, bells and whistles, just post my auction at a certain time and I'll be happy.

We use FrontPage for auction creation, AuctionTamer for Auction Record keeping (use to us eBud, but have recently had nothing but problems with it). I love AuctionTamer, and their customer service is the tops. We have our pictures stored via our ISP, and web site suppliers, so we don't need that service either.

NOW, if I can find a posting service which will untie me from the computer, and post at a given time, I am good to go.

I will not pay a FVF to anyone, would rather stay tied to the computer.

Any suggestions? I used Go-To back in the fall and it worked fairly well for us, but haven't checked it out since they started charging.

Thank you to all that responded both here and by email. There is a learning curve with anything ~ and I have already spent that time learning auction watch. I know the program, and can do a large number of auctions very quickly. I am going to go back, atleast for a couple of months......time is a big issue for me now.....and Auction Watch saves me enough time to justify the cost for now......so I am off to belly up to the credit card bar and sign up!

I was very happy with AW and would have stayed if there had been a plan that offered a fee by the month without the 1% FVF fee. I have gone to a service that is giving a 30 day free trial and once you purchase the software there is never an added charge for updates. The help is wonderful and fast! In addition I did an eBay search for everyone that uses kAuction to see what their auctions look like. I liked
what I saw. I am now using the service. I use the free picture hosting from Yahoo! GeoCities. I still visit AW and enjoy the Message Board chats! [email protected]

We are very pleased and plan to stay. Love the fixed price in the storefront.

As posters have stated numerous times - there are many ways to do what AW did for you for free. However, it takes you more time. We are here to make money. Why waste time on tasks that do not produce revenue when for the profit on one item I have a service that does all those tasks for us. In addition, the EOA's are not canned. You edit and write them one time as you would like your buyers to see them.

So far - no complaints from buyers. Problems are handled timely and professionally and we are glad we are here.
