Hi

I have beeen trying to change a category on 2 listings I added earlier this evening.I list through my TIAS shop and the category I wanted - I couldn't find in their eBay upload section.I deliberately misspelled a word in one title to remind myself to go in and fix it.Now I can't change the categories and I look like I am illiterate as well ! if anyone sees a listing for "stonewhere" that is mine! LOL!

For 5 hrs I have been getting the "CGI5 isn't responding connection being reset by peer" message when I have made the changes and need to Verify. Anyone have any idea if CGI5 is down or is it me??

Thanks

It is my guess that there is something going on and they had to reboot a server. It happened friday, and it can happen today. On Friday the servers that handle closed auctions went down...

Give it 20 minutes to reboot or for another server to take over its duties. The servers should be able to compensate for when another one crashes, but I guess not. I think they have something like 15 just for open listings, another dozen for closed, a few each for registration, billing, feedback, images, the message boards, the "chatroom", etc. I think they even have a few servers that you will never use but store all auction data for the last year (it might be less than that, but they have a legal responsibility to keep the data for a certain amount of time).

I expected problems after the major "updates" they proposed to make late last week.

Morning all

Well I tried to change the category and title again this morning.Same Explorer message "IE cannot open the site
http://cgi5.ebay.com/aw.cgi/eBaylSAPl.dll?VerifyUpdateItem Connection with the server was reset.I retyped the url- so it may not be perfect. I can't tell the difference between 1,l and I.

This has been since 7PM last eve that I am trying. TIAS is already looking into why the category I needed wasn't on their lists in the first place.

Morgantown- I smile everytime I see your name- If it is the one in W VA I am about 30 miles away- going the back way.I have nothing to do with AuctionPie. I left Jamie's group over 2 months ago.Our cooperative is for sellers of vintage, antique and collectible items.AW is very, very picky about what I say. I realize now that they feel we are competition for them. Please email me.

In the meantime- I guess that I await poor CGI5.I'll list somewhere else today.

Hi all

Just in case someone is still struggling with this- I found the workaround!

When you log-in and the next page lets you make your changes- look for the option of doing the categories the Old way . The old category choice page works for all changes.

Hey- it only took me 24 hrs to figure this out! At least I did- because the new way still doesn't work for me.
