Mail.com a huge freebie email site specializing in unique email addresses like
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
the list goes on......
They overhauled their site and database in the last few weeks.
I have an account there which is my main auction account email.
It has been a hell to login since they redid their database if I can login in at all it is very screwed up once inside.
This week it is getting worse since I am not getting any new emails including my bid notification and EOA emails from ebay or my sellers and bidders.
I recently bid on some things and I have to track down my sellers email and contact them that way with another of my accounts.
If you find some of your bidders have these cutesy types of email addresses they are most likely having the same problems as me.
They might not be getting your EOA greetings.
Good luck,
Cynthia

I have a mail.com address that I use as my main email (and for eBay selling/buying).
I've been having problems for the past 2 weeks or more... delayed mail... dropped mail... people mailing me and getting an "undeliverable" message.
It really is driving me nuts.
I emailed their customer service 2 weeks ago, and never got a response.

Mail.com just recently sold its email services to some other company.
I have always had problems with delayed emails through usa.com (one of their email domains). Sometimes emails are delayed as much as 24 hours. I think also I have had some emails sent to me bounced back to the sender recently as well.

Are they the same company as email.com? I had a lot of trouble with my email.com account and finally switched over to my isp's email after too much frustration.

I've also noticed a few problems w/my mail.com account.
A few (maybe more?) emails have never showed up. Had to log into my paypal account and see what pymnts were received because I never got the email.
I notice that the inbox no longer states how many "new" messages I have.
I think I should seek out another email service. Any ideas anyone?

I have accounts at both mail.com and email.com. I'm not sure who 'owns' them but they are identical, and when mail.com did the upgrade so did email.com.
What was only slightly bothersome before is a nightmare. I've been changing e-mail addresses quicker than you can shake a stick during the last while.
I have a bunch of on-line e-mail accounts and the ones I'm happy with are Yahoo (seems to hardly ever fail), Hotmail (goes down once in a while) and iVillage (some internal errors but nothing real serious).
E-mail sites to avoid might include Graffiti.net and Youpy.com. I've had trouble with both of those in addition to USA.com as mentioned above.

gosh!
I thought they just hated ME!
yes! I had MAIL.COM for about a year, occasional down-time, occasional not able to send mail for 1 to 2 days....... tough when it is your business account! This last piece of nonsense was wayyyyyy too much, though! I dropped them and switched to my isp's server, it was real awkward to learn but I managed. mail.com got me two negs while I was wondering WHERE are my eoa notices, and was unaware that email 'sent' was not sent!
......enough exclamation points! It was horribly stressful, I hate them!
Mom ain't happy, ain't NOBODY happy

I gotta grant them, just to be fair, that they sent a notice beforehand. But it claimed we'd be unable to access our SENT MAIL FOLDER for a few hours. HUH! Days and days. It still isn't working right, been over 2 weeks.
I had XXKXXWXX mail when I started ebay about 2 years ago. One morning I went to check mail and it didn't exist. Never came back, I just kept getting redirected to a yahoo notice saying "if you were a XXKXXW customer, we'll have your mail at your new yahoo address within a day or two." Never did. Months later they STILL didn't have my mail or even my name. I was so damaged by that fiasco I can still taste it!
Mom, spittin' bad taste out......... ttoohey!

For those of you looking for an alternative email account, I use both Yahoo (very few problems) and Myrealbox.com (another good one, but can be awkward to use sometimes). I set the Myrealbox one up on Outlook Express, much easier to handle that way (you can also do that with Yahoo). If you end up with that one and use their settings, you may have trouble sending mail. In that case, use your isp's smtp server address, took care of mine in a jiffy.

I think everyone here has a yahoo mail and a hotmail etc etc.
I liked mail.com because they had cutsey names you can claim
[email protected] YEAH BABY!!
I loved that email name to use for auction accounts.
They had annoumced their changes effective May 1st and that there would only be a temporary service interuption.
But geeze its mid month now HURRY UP!!
