What is up with all this garbage I keep getting? Can they change anything else? Now, I cannot have "links" in my listings. I suppose I can understand the need not to have say, "adult" links listed on my ebay auctions but does that mean I cannot include auctionwatch links and if so, does auctionwatch know about this? Here is a copy of the email:
We appreciate that you chose eBay to list your items. We would like to take this opportunity to let you know
that on May 10th, 2001, we have revised our Links and Credits policy in regards to the listing of your items.
This notice is being sent to you as a notification of these changes, and to let you know that enforcement of
this policy began May 31st, 2001.
Please note that for the first two weeks, we will only be issuing educational notices, understanding that many
members are making adjustments to their listing templates. Beginning June 14th, we will issue a warning on the first violation of the policy. Subsequent listings which do not conform with the policy may be ended early.
In reviewing your listings, for example:
listing one-item for sale
we found that they would not be within our revised policy guidelines. The listings contain the following
information in the description:
"Click here to visit my website"
Our revised policy concerning allowed Links and Credits on the View Item page is as follows:
"eBay allows sellers to place the following types of links in your item's description:
-One link to a page that further describes the item being sold in that listing.
-One link to your email address that opens an email client for potential bidders to ask questions about the
item in that listing.
-Links to photos of the item for sale.
-Links to your eBay or Half.com listings.
-One link to your About Me page (in addition to the About Me icon already provided by eBay).
-Links that provide credits to third parties.
If you have a logo for any of these links, it may be no greater than 88x33 pixels. (Exception - links to your
eBay or Half.com listings).
Linking to web sites that offer to trade, sell or purchase goods or services, or including links for any purpose other than those listed above is not allowed. Prohibited links include, but are not limited to:
-Links to web pages that offer to trade, sell or purchase goods or services outside of eBay
-Links to web sites or pages offering merchandise is not permitted on eBay
-Links to sites that solicit eBay User Ids or passwords from bidders
-Links that encourage bidders to place their eBay bids through a site other than eBay"
Please note that we have also updated the Third Party Credit and About Me page linking guidelines, in
addition to the above View Item page policies. For your convenience we have included the link to these
updated policies, as well as an FAQ page that will better assist you in the changes that have been made:
Again, as a courtesy to our members, we will be issuing educational notices through June 14th, 2001. We
encourage you to review all of your current listings and auction templates to determine if they are in
compliance with the revised Links and Credits guidelines.
We thank you for using eBay and we wish you many successful transactions in the future.

I received the exact same e-mail yesterday. Now I don't no if I should relist my auctions today or not. I've e-mailed AW. I hope they responed quickly, because I need to elist my auction's. But of course, I don't want to be suspended from E-bay. My e-mail also stated, I can't use the Paypal banner. I guess they only want us to use there there pay site Billpoint, which I do not accept because they do not insure the transaction like Paypal. I pay E-bay over $1,500 a month in fee's. How much more do the want now? I have never sen a more money hungry auction site? I wish something better would come along.

That's just great, I just updated the paypal listings. I agree with you about the fees. i don't mind paying the auctionwatch fees, because I feel like they take a lot of paperwork and make it easy for me but ebay is killing me in fees, since I don't sell all that much.
Thanks for your response I appreciate it!

I am having a damned hard time keeping up with all this crap ....sorry to sound so bitchy but its wearing thin.....

Please check out my website if you would like
to see some ideas of what you can do to help
change the current auction situation. eBay is
getting too restrictive.
