Need to do some serious repairs on some very old books. Looking for a good source of bookbinding material, spine backing, and even some boards. Any ideas?

Brodart carries book repair materials:

There's also another bookbinder called The Bookmenders. They primarily do Bibles, but also other types of books.
Are these valuable books? Are they books you want to sell? If you really want to try your hand at minor repairs yourself, have you thought about experimenting with a value-less book first?
Unless you know what you're doing, I'd leave repairs to the experts or to the buyer.

I would naturally 'practice' first on less valuable editions.
I have limited editions, and very rare 1st editions going back to 1815 as well as a couple of dozen 19th century works that all need repair to some degree. I already do 'small' repairs myself, but I really need to make these look good for top dollar.
A supply of cloth, boards and spine backing is all I need for now. Many of these I intend to keep also. SUch as an 1815 bio of Ben Franklin without a back board that was a freebie!
